(More customer reviews)We've had one of these for 6 months now. It is extremely quiet, and cleans the dishes really well. Easy to install and operate (we really only use "sensor" and "tall items" programs though). It took a little time to get used to the layout options - there are many. We love the silverware tray. The only thing I wish it has was a small display showing time to completion. Oh, and did I mention how quiet it is? I work at home all the time and our old dishwasher (very basic Whirlpool) used to drive me nuts. I can't even hear this one when I'm working.

(More customer reviews)I have had this dishwasher since October of 2010. I was a little leary based on other reviews I have seen on this model.
The reviews I've seen are either very good, or VERY bad. I went ahead and gave it shot. It does a great job of cleaning my dishes and is also VERY quiet. I don't have to prewash my dishes like I did with my old Whirlpool which is a plus.
You'll want to make sure to use a rinse aid EVERY wash, because it will affect the drying. You also do not want to open the dishwasher at all during the drying process, it will throw it off.
Glad I got one of the better ones and not a lemon like I've heard

This $900 Bosch died 3 weeks after installation on the day our company arrived for Christmas! It has been dead a week and we can not get anyone to fix it (bought at Pacific Sales) even though we bought a 3 yr maintenance agreement.
DONT GO NEAR IT!

(More customer reviews)Hello, I first want to clarify that we may have a slightly different model but it is a Bosch dishwasher.
Let me sum it up- unsafe. The Bosch does get dishes clean. It does not however remove the cleaner. After four service calls and much runaround for us after just 6 months we are getting a replacement.
We tried rinse agents different dishwasher options and even went as far as pouring vinegar on each load. We still get lots of bubbles when pouring a glass of water.
Considering we eat a lot of organic - you can imagine my wife's displeasure at pouring dishwasher fluid into our four children. With four children I got my wife a higher end model.
Bottom line - Boschs are Lemons in my view. They are not worth the premium you pay.

However, we've had it less than 3 years and the touch pad has already stopped working, customer service stinks, the warrantee is short, the cycles are incredibly long and very loud. All in all, you can get much better for the same amount of money.

(More customer reviews)a big difference from the one that had before, looks great and it has 3 speeds, on the first setting I can't even hear that it works. The only thing that it didn't come with the bulbs, but you can easely buy them from home depot.
I noticed the power on this one when assembling, too bad that some of the power is lost when you add the cover that covers electrical wires, but still works great.
I've done some comparison shopping before buying this and I'm very glad that I bought this one.

KitchenAid Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal Review

My previous disposal froze up, and couldn't be broken loose again. When you turned it on, it just made a quiet humming noise. This KitchenAid disposal makes the same amount of noise as that when it is working. Very quiet. They have a 1HP model that is supposed to be even quieter, but I think that is unnecessary. Even when chewing on two cups of ice, the amount of noise is just slightly louder than the running water from the sink. 3/4 horsepower is plenty for a residential kitchen as well. The only possible reason for going with the larger 1HP model is that it supposedly has an extra grinding stage (3 versus 2 in this one) that grinds up things smaller. If you had a septic tank instead of sewer service, that might be worth considering.
Otherwise, this monster is such an upgrade over the standard builder grade disposals and the common Insinkerator "Badger" models that you'll almost certainly be happy if you're coming from one of those. The internals of this model are made by Insinkerator, and are the same as the Evolution Essential. I bought it because the Kitchen Aid version wound up being cheaper.
Also nice is that the rubber guard that fills the drain hole is easily removable, That is very nice, and not something that is common. You can just pull it out, clean it without having to worry about sticking your hand down in the disposal, and put it back.
Bad points:
This unit does not include the pieces you need to connect it electrically. So be sure to save the power cord off your old disposal. The necessary parts (strain relief, wire nuts, power cable) can be had pretty easily/inexpensively at the hardware store of your choice, but be aware that you'll need to purchase them.Things to consider:
This disposal is physically big, There is a good chance you'll wind up with less space under your sink than you had before, so keep that in mind. The extra size may mean you have to cut some of your existing plumbing because it would be too long. Big grinding chambers, noise insulation and 3/4 horsepower motors need a big package.
The dishwasher inlet hole is optional and sealed. If you're using it, be sure you don't forget to punch out the plastic piece sealing it. Its in the manual, but you might overlook it.
The install was pretty easy. The sum total of my previous similar experience was replacing the drain in the kitchen sink (not all the plumbing, just the piece in the sink).

(More customer reviews)We are a family of five with standard home kitchen use. We wanted a dishwasher that cleans well, is simple to use, and has a steel tub. We wanted the stainless tub to avoid the ugly stains that every other washer I have ever owned invetibably got. However, an added bonus outside of looks, is that with a steel tub you can easily side mount the dishwasher, which is a must if you own granite or stone counter tops. We installed the machine ourselves and have owned it for a little over a month:
1. Super quiet at 52dB and does not interfere with conversations, tv, radio, or anything while running.
2. Very easy to use and simple control set up
3. Stainless tub and used to side mount
4. Bottom has wide channels for the water and electrical hook ups, which made installation much easier.
5. Water connection is in the front for easy access, again making installation easy.
6. Cleans our stemware and coffe cups better than any machine I have ever owned. Absolutely no residue.
7. Pots and pans cleaned well with no pre-rinse or scrubbing on my part.
8. The bowl placement for the top rack is not as good as it appears in the pictures, but the bottom rack handles them very well. Top is good too, but you have to space them every third or second post.
9. The top rack is adjustable and has mounts for stem ware, and as wine drinkers, I have loved this function.
10. I have never owned an LG before, but based on my experience so far, I would buy again and recommend to anyone.

Panasonic FV-11VH2 WhisperWarm 110 CFM Ceiling Mounted Fan/Heat Combination Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased a Panasonic FV-11VH1 heater fan for my new home construction. Outwardly, the unit appeared well made, and the unit operated flawlessly (and very quietly I must add) for about 5 months. As a sidenote, I also purchased four other Panasonic bathroom ventilating fans, and all appear high quality and all are very quiet.
Unfortunately, after only 5 months of VERY light use, the FV-11VH1 unit heater failed. Upon removal and close scrutiny, I discovered the electrical wire lead that connects 120V service to the heating element had literally deteriorated, and subsequently fell off. When I state deteriorated, I mean to the point of virtual dust. Accordingly, the heater element did not work simply due to lack of incoming electric service. I then tested (using ohm meter) the heating element itself to discover it was still operable, and subsequently tested it under 120V power to verify it did work...which it did. I then scrutinized the heater's electrical connection prongs, and discovered the special heatproof insulation surrounding the failed prong/connector had, like the wire lead, deteriorated.
As the unit was only five months old, and still under three year warranty, I got on line to contact Panasonic for service instructions. Despite being very savvy on line, I could not find any contact information for Panasonic Service Centers. I called all three Panasonic Consumer phone numbers, and all three numbers enabled me to speak to an automated voice giving Panasonic Service Center contact information. I called six Panasonic Service Centers (in three states) to find out they do not service the Heater / Fan units, and they did not what Panasonic Center did. Each Service Center rep was helpful, but stated they did not have product specific Service Center information. I inquired with each Service Center rep as to "how could I contact a human being at Panasonic to ask of service"...in each case, and without hesitation, the reps stated there is no way a human contact can be made via Panasonic Consumer Services. No matter how long I remain on the phone with the Panasonic automated voice system, there is NEVER an option to "press 0" or similar to actually speak with a representative.
I have emailed Panasonic four times now, each time utilizing their Customer Service contact format. I have received automated responses from Panasonic, all identical, and all stating to contact my installer. My installer is an electrician, has been involved in this fiasco, and marvels that we cannot get part number specific information...much less, actual warranty service. He will never recommend another Panasonic heater fan again...
I am technically able to repair my unit, but would like to order the correct parts via Panasonic. Unfortunately, there are NO SCHEMATICS WHATSOEVER available to me, as a consumer. Accordingly, I can find parts and part numbers for my unit, but cannot unconditionally identify that I am purchasing the correct part. I do know this...the replacement heating element for this unit is $12 less that my original purchase price. Add in shipping cost, and my total cost (I've given up on warranty service) is greater than the cost of a new unit.
I have been a Panasonic fan since about 1975, and have always had good luck with the entire range of Panasonic products. This particular scenario has changed my opinion 180 degrees, as I will never purchase another Panasonic product again, and am pleased to be able to announce to others my tale in an era where customer service is paramount.

The installation was straight forward, I would have given it 5 stars but they do not give you a template to layout the exhaust hole and attachment bolts so it took me awhile to measure and mark it out. The unit really has powerfull motors and the lighting is pretty good. I would recommend this hood to anyone that does alot of cooking and needs a powerful hood; this baby does the job.

(More customer reviews)I bought this vac when my old shop vac started spewing dust due to worn out filters and seals. I use this type of vac to clean pet hair, dust, sand and dirt from the hardwood and tile floors in my home. I didn't want to deal with a consumer quality vac that would lose efficiency as it filled with dirt.
1. The tank is stainless steel, but could be dented if you abuse it. I wouldn't drag it down the stairs by the hose. With proper care, it should last a lifetime. The handle and wheels are permanently attached to the unit, so it might be hard to invert the tank for cleaning purposes. The motor, cord, attached filter and top lid completely remove from the tank for cleaning.
2. The cord is plenty long enough for most homes, and the 12 foot hose is fantastic. You can reach ceiling fans without having to carry the vac up the ladder.
3. The wheels are sturdy, and make moving the vac very easy.
4. The motor is reasonably quiet (at least compared to my Sears unit), and sufficiently powerful to vacuum sand from the floor, through the 12 foot hose, and into the tank. Although the HP rating seems small, the motor is a two stage unit which much more efficient than the single stage units seen on cheaper vacs. Even after three days of cleaning a very dusty house, garage, and automobile (without emptying the dust bag), there was sufficient suction for efficient cleaning. I ran the unit from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM for three days, and didn't notice any heat problems or strange noises indicating that I was overtaxing the motor.
5. This unit comes with a paper filter, and I added vacuuum bags to eliminate any possible release of dust from the unit. The vac bags are a great idea. They protect the paper filter, keep the inside of the vac clean, and make for very easy cleanup. On the down side, they do prevent you from easily retrieving property that accidentally gets sucked into the vac.
6. The tools are pretty rugged, but not typical of the $400 industrial vacs that I've seen. This is probably a good thing since such tools are very heavy, bulky and hard to handle. The supplied tools will probably last for years.
Shop Vac's customer service was great (I called them with a number of questions), and they were nice enough to tell me that parts could be purchased at Wal-Mart (instead of having to order them from Shop Vac directly).
If you're going to be vacuuming an office, a small shop or a home, this vac will last a lifetime. I'm very happy with the purchase.

(More customer reviews)I researched a lot of kitchen exhaust hoods before settling on this one. We've had this hood for 4 years now, and I was and still am impressed with this hood!!!! I orginally wanted the 18" tall hoods because they had the features that I wanted when none of the other smaller units did. Due to space constrants, we could not install the larger hoods in our kitchen which drove me to looking at the smaller units. I did not like any of them due to the way they vented as well as their lack-luster features. Then I found this one!!!! It rivals the larger hoods with with all of its features. It has the heat lamps, the stainless steel baffle filters, variable speeds which on high will almost suck the pots off the burners!!! And on low, it eliminates all the cooking odors from the kitchen, even fish!!!! The noise level is not that bad on low which is where we keep it most of the time, but can get up to several decibles on high. Overall, I am so very glad that we purchased this unit from Broan. It's value for the money knocks all the other high-end units off the map!!!! Plus, you don't have to have this gargantuan unit in your kitchen that takes up so much space!!!! (More customer reviews)We bought this stainless steel dishwasher about a month ago. I loved the look and the price, along with its touted quality. After many uses, however, I am not very impressed. I hope that with a different detergent I will get better results.
Pros:
-it's pretty.
-you can put a lot of plates in it.
-it's very quiet.
-it has lots of timing options.
-it has a cool sounding ding when you press the buttons (which are hidden: an added pro).
-price, considering its appearance.
-built-in garbage disposal. (I do feel that this is somewhat misleading, since if you put your dishes in with that much food on them, the likelihood of them coming out clean is low.)
Cons:
-I have only used one detergent in it (Electrasol Advanced), but have repeated trouble with unclean dishes, even when using the power scrub setting. Granted, I am putting knives coated in peanut butter in the dishwasher, but considering the brand and price, I think this is not unreasonable. The knives generally come out streaky and I have to scrub them and rewash. Ceramic plates seem to come out fine (plastic children's ones not so much, for some reason - more caked-on PB?), but I have trouble with cutlery and anything that had food stuck to it.
-the top rack does not adjust.
-the bottom rack, when pulled out all the way (like "normal" all the way, not "on the floor" all the way), ALWAYS comes off track and you have to fight with it to get it back in the dishwasher. This is perhaps my biggest pet peeve about this dishwasher.
-when opened, the handle rests on the floor. Mildly annoying, except when your foot happens to be in its path.
-due to the poor wash quality, I almost always have to use the power scrub setting.
-it seems that the wash cycle takes FOREVER. I realize I am using the power scrub setting, but really. My old Kenmore did not take nearly as long, and cleaned better. I can't believe I am saying this about a Sears product.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this dishwasher to replace an aging Frigidaire that had just stopped getting our dishes clean. We decided that we wanted to spend a little extra and get a dishwasher that offered more options, and would match our stainless LG refrigerator purchased earlier this year.
First of all, to get the obvious out of the way, this dishwasher is beautiful. Unlike most stainless dishwashers, the handle is more flat than round, which gives the unit a more modern and sleek feel. Also, the control are fully integrated and the layout and presentation of the buttons is intuitive and user-friendly. I have no prior experience with integrated washers, but the only con is that you can't easily see how much time is remaining on the wash cycle because it is hidden under the lip of the counter. The only way to check is to open the door and take a peek.
As for the interior, the tub is all stainless steel which looks fantastic and promises to hopefully stand up to staining and wear and tear better than a traditional plastic or vinyl interior. On the top and bottom racks, there are two sets of tines that are adjustable so if you are loading oddly-shaped dishes, you are more than likely going to be able to fit them in. Additionally, on the bottom rack, there is a row of tines that is completely removable in case you have large casserole dishes or baking pans that you want to load vertically. The silverware basket is removable and has slots to ensure that utensils stay standing vertically and not laying against each other during a wash cycle. On the top rack there is also a modular "shelf" attached to the edge that can be used to hold over-sized utensils. The shelf folds out of the way if you don't need to use it.
Now for the important part: wash performance. Included with the unit are samples of Cascade All-in-One Action Packs and a sample bottle of Cascade Rinse-Aid. To tell you now: TAKE THIS AS A SIGN!!! I can't re-iterate how important it is to use rinse aid and decent detergent. This washer performed flawlessly using these products on the first two washes (there are only two detergent packs included). On our third load, we fell back to our old Palmolive Eco+ detergent (low phosphate) and the results were staggering. While the dishwasher was definitely cleaning better than our old one, the baked on gunk was not entirely removed from the dishes and there was a noticeable haze to the dishes that wasn't there with the detergent packets. Through some research, we found that the low phosphate detergents are notoriously low performers. This doesn't mean that you have to throw away money on the Action Packs though. We are now using plain 'ole powdered Cascade and rinse-aid and our dishes are coming out spotless and shiny.
I've read elsewhere that if you don't use rinse-aid with this dishwasher, your dishes will not be dry at the end of the cycle. I haven't encountered this issue, but I also haven't stopped using the rinse-aid. This dishwasher does not have a heating element in the bottom of the tub, but instead uses a hybrid drying system that uses a fan to remove the moisture from the interior air. This system has worked great for us, and the only time I see leftover water is on the top rack in the concave bottoms of certain glasses. It's not much, and I usually just keep a dish towel nearby if I encounter any and give it a quick wipe on the top.As for the additional cycles and settings, the steam function does work very well. As mentioned earlier when using the Palmolive Eco+, the only area of the casserole dish that really got cleaned off was the area that was right next to the steam vent. The wash cycle on this washer is a little long (Usually 2 - 2 1/2 hours) but I'm not usually in any kind of hurry to get my dishes clean, so this isn't really an issue.
Finally, if you're looking for a quiet dishwasher, this is what you're looking for. You can hardly tell when it's running, and the sound it does make almost sounds like a very quiet babbling brook.

I wrote a review someplace when I first got it describing how much I hated it, but after one year I've come to the conclusion that there is one feature that makes this dishwasher really, really nice. You can take out the top rack, and then with a little piece ( that you have to purchase extra- online) you put it over the place that the water comes out for the top rack. It's just a cheap piece of plastic that makes like a water shower out of the back. But what that does is make it possible to put really big items in the dishwasher to wash. I wash my trash cans all the time in there and washing trash cans is one of my least favorite chores so after having this dishwasher for a year I realize how valuable that is. I wash other large things too. Without the top rack there is a lot of room in there. The other really good thing is that it is very quiet. It still is a major pain to load. small cereal type bowls just can't find a good place to fit, and it doesn't hold nearly as much as my old dishwasher, even though that one had a post in the center, and it doesn't wash as well. However, it does wash very good, just not as well as my old dishwasher. It's not really a "potscrubber" With just the two of us at home now, or 3 when my son is home from college it is working out well. So despite my scathing first review, the truth is I now like this dishwasher mostly because I can wash really tall things in it. By the way, I'm basing this review on the picture, this is what my dishwasher looks like, none of the other pictures match.
