Hello, I first want to clarify that we may have a slightly different model but it is a Bosch dishwasher.
Let me sum it up- unsafe. The Bosch does get dishes clean. It does not however remove the cleaner. After four service calls and much runaround for us after just 6 months we are getting a replacement.
We tried rinse agents different dishwasher options and even went as far as pouring vinegar on each load. We still get lots of bubbles when pouring a glass of water.
Considering we eat a lot of organic - you can imagine my wife's displeasure at pouring dishwasher fluid into our four children. With four children I got my wife a higher end model.
Bottom line - Boschs are Lemons in my view. They are not worth the premium you pay.
Sincerely dad of four.

We have a 5 year old Thermador dishwasher that spontaneously broke. The electronic programming is malfunctioning and the dishwasher keeps going for hours. We contacted Thermador because the warranty for the electronic portion of the dishwasher is for 5 years, but they refused to honor the warranty because we are the second owners. They didn't care that we inherited the dishwasher when we moved into our current house 1 year ago; they didn't care that the dishwasher was never moved and certainly never abused by us. I've had other, cheaper dishwashers that have lasted much longer and I'm disgusted with Thermador's (also known as Bosch) inflexible warranty policy. If you're buying a house with Thermador appliances understand that the warranties will be void once the owner changes. I certainly will never buy any Thermador or Bosch appliances again.

A great cooktop. I installed it myself and it was not difficult to do. Just have the right wrench. The cooktop looks great and performs wonderfully. So much easier to clean than the one that came with the home by the builder. A great upgrade at a very reasonable price for the quality.

Have owned this Bosch 300-Series Gas Range for two months. I ordered it directly from the Amazon-linked AJ Madison website. As for that store, the stove was delivered as arranged and the price was right, as it was on-sale for a few days. More on this later. Narrowed my list down to two: the Bosch and the Frigidaire FGGF3054K. The Frigidaire had a few advantages, these included a Convection oven feature, a better lower-drawer handle, a 17Kbtu front burner and a more advanced oven-rack arrangement. This Frigidaire is about $25 cheaper than the Bosch. I finally went with the Bosch because I had had good luck with their electrical components when doing repairs on my car in previous years. I also liked the heavier and more squared edges of the iron-grates covering the burners. Both stoves seem to be a good value for 8 bills. As mentioned, bought from AJ Madison. A few cautions are in order here. They will attempt to tag-on added charges after the delivery for a thing like delivering the stove up more than a certain number of steps (an arbitrary #). Before the stove is shipped, call their service rep, not sales, and tell them you will only allow delivery on condition there will be NO extra charges. I had to be a little forceful about this. And waiting for the sales department to answer the phone will require patience. These are New York-sharpies but they will be honest if you keep on top of them. I would purchase from them again, but only if the price was 25% lower than local dealers. Now some details on the Bosch stove: nice big lighted oven with a big window, fantastic non-slide full-coverage iron grating on top. The oven preheats quickly and since it is so roomy will not (my opinion) need a convection feature. All the design effort was on the burners, oven and electronics; the bottom warming/storage drawer is the typical cheapie type found on any $450 range. The working parts are fantastic, however. High-quality touchpad includes great timer functions for baking and general timing of cooking. The timers shut-off the oven as required and all timer functions beep every one-minute after timing-out, a great safety and convenience feature for me. Those not yet familiar with new gas ranges will have to get used to the electronic ignition for the top burners. Turn to lightning symbol till lit, then set to desired flame. The oven door will detent (pause) when closing but do not expect it to hold in open position solidly, as these ovens are meant to do all broiling with the door closed. On first use, you will probably notice a few things which seem like problems but are not: an error signal may pop-up on the display during first use. This immediately clears up once the stove has been plugged-in for a few minutes, clock set and the burners have been used. The other brief annoyance is that, due to the installer disturbing the gas lines, there will likely be some dust which blows up through the top burners, causing a snap sound. This clears up in a few days. Flame level adjustment is non-linear, an annoyance to some, but is compensated for by the ability to turn the flame down to an extremely low usable level. As for safety around children, the stove comes with the usual non-tip floor-bracket and has a nice electronic Lock feature for the oven door. It has the required push-to-light knobs for the 5 top burners. One caution with any of these full iron-grate stovetops is that a boy between 3-7 may get curious on seeing Mom cleaning the stove, and may lift off one of the 3 grate sections out of curiosity and drop it on his foot. Just train the little rodent. As for my 4-Star rating (see update below) of the range, I would give it a full 5 Stars but having owned the thing only a few months, I cannot comment on continued use or quality of Bosch customer service. So far, this gas range is great.
ONE-YEAR update: Oven and electronic controls are flawless. Four of the five burners light immediately with the electronic-ignition. The left-rear burner is balky, taking ~3seconds to light. One time, a pot of spaghetti boiled over a little on this burner. The flame went out and gas was issuing from the burner. With a second burner lit heating the sauce, there could have been a big problem if built-up gas had ignited. Luckily, I was in the kitchen at the time. I suspect these electronic-ignition stoves by various brands share this problem, since burner design has to be different to allow for lighting, as opposed to the old pilot-light jobs. The second problem arose when I called customer-service to report the safety issue. The woman to whom I spoke was rude and uninterested. Moreover, she was stupid. So, considering the ~minor safety issue and the non-existent customer support, a nice 5-star range will be given only three stars by this owner. All such stoves need a heat-sensor to shut off gas flow to unlit burners. Wake-up Bosch. And while you're at it, take your entire customer-service staff for a company outing at sea. Sink the boat.

_____________________________________________________________
Overview--
Let's face it, when it comes to appliances, the Germans make damn good stuff. This machine is a dream. It actually cleans my dishes wonderfully. Imagine that. Unlike the Whirlpool dishwasher it replaced, It doesn't leave the dishes cloudy. It leaves them spotless. It doesn't leave soap film all over my dishes like my Whirlpool did. It also doesn't throw bits of foods that it washes off the other dishes and redeposit them onto the glasses or other dishes or bake them on after that if I use Sani-Rinse. :\
If anyone is wondering why dishwashers take so long to wash dishes these days, it's because they don't use anywhere near as much water as they used to. To compensate for this, wash times have been significantly increased. The USA Federal Government mandates have forced manufacturers that want to sell dishwashers in the country to comply with new stringent water and electricity mising rules. Europeans are used to this and have been manufacturing their dishwashers and clothes washers in an eco-efficient way for decades, but the USA has just recently been forced to catch up.
I had complained about our other Whirlpool dishwasher that this Bosch dishwasher replaced for quite some time. It wasn't until I started washing the dishes by hand, that my housemate figured I had had enough with that awful Whirlpool dishwasher. I took it upon myself, since I was given the option, to select the replacement for the old Whirlpool dishwasher (which was only 4 years old actually), so I selected this Bosch dishwasher.
Cleaning Performance --What can I say? As I said before, it makes my glassware sparkle like new with no streaks or spot, and dishes are thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and NSF sanitize certified every time. The fact it makes my glassware look so nice is impressive, considering I live in an area that probably has the hardest water in the USA. I don't have a water softener and this particular model doesn't have a salt dispenser.
Energy Efficiency -- Rated at 259 kWh/yr...One of the "greenest" dishwashers you can buy. What does this mean in real terms? It will cost you approximately $19 a year in operating costs in natural gas and electricity if you have a gas water heater. If you have an electric water heater it will cost about $25 a year in electricity.
Water-Efficiency-- Uses about 5.8 gallons of water or less depending on which cycle you choose..
Aesthetics-- This dishwasher is distinctively European looking; which isn't a surprise to me since the design and engineering is German. No bold looks that I can notice and the buttons are just the right size. It's a very boxy design with the control panel on the front. Hidden controls are not for me because I want to be able to easily tell where the machine is in the cycle.
Stainless Steel Tub-- I got the stainless steel tub version. This is mainly a snobbish choice of aesthetics. However the Bosch dishwashers all have stainless steel tubs with the exception of one cheaper model that has plastic on the bottom tub portion only. Bosch claims that because of their machine design, the stainless steel tub actually helps to dry the dishes. The tub is covered for the life of the dishwasher. The stainless steel tub on our other dishwasher was resistant to stains, but it was not stain proof. I don't know if this tub and liner will be different.
Noise Level--What noise? :) LOL! I think my refrigerator makes more noise than this dishwasher- no joke. Perhaps I'm exaggerating, but it's close competition. The only thing you can hear when this dishwasher is on is a little bit of water splash noise and a slight hum when the water is being drained. At a noise rating of only 47 decibels, it actually seems to be too quiet perhaps? This Bosch dishwasher is heavily noise insulated, and believe it or not, it's still not the quietest model they make. With thick noise padding, two pumps, and no hard food disposer, it's easy to understand why this machine is very quiet.Cycles on this machine seem to be excessive, and perhaps somewhat confusing at times, but I wanted this model because it was what a leading consumer magazine rated the best . This dishwasher comes with the following standard cycles that also incorporate fuzzy logic technology:
Cycle Indication Lights--This dishwasher has buttons that don't depress much when pushed. They are more like click buttons or click switches. A slight click is all you hear when they are pushed. There are no knobs. There is a time remaining countdown light and a sanitized indicator light and a light that lets you know when to refill the rinse aid on the front panel. The sanitized light only comes on at the end of the cycle if the dishwasher had to significantly heat up the wash and rinse water. Sanitation is not a problem. It's standard on this dishwasher. Besides, your dishes are sanitized enough by the sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in your detergent and the heat from the water. When you put dishes into the cupboard they are infested with tiny microbes. So sani rinse, etc. on dishwashers is quite a frivolous cycle, but it helps dishwashers sell, so I imagine that's why you see this cycle so much on dish machines. You cannot tell by looking at the control panel when this dishwasher is filling, rinsing or washing. It only has a countdown readout.
Half Load - Automatically adjusts energy and water usage for a half loaded dishwasher and washes accordingly. There is no "top rack only" wash cycle for this model
Eco - Checks condition of water to see whether extra fills are necessary for wash and rinse cycles.
Power Scrub Plus - Removes heavily dried on food soils of pots and pans or regular dishes
Auto Wash - Automatically adjusts cycle to how dirty the dishes are and washes accordingly. I just purchased this dishwasher, so the only cycle I've had a chance to use is the regular wash cycle.
Regular Cycle - For heavily soiled everyday dishes with or without dried food on them
Quick Wash - For lightly soiled dishes that don't have dried food on them 30 minutes. This cycle can be used right after you clean up for a dinner party perhaps or if you're washing dishes that you want to use that have been stored in the garage or basement.
Hi-Temp-- This is not something a person can select manually. Hi temp comes on if it needs to.
Sani-Rinse -- Sani Rinse is called Extra Heat on this dishwasher and must be selected by pressing a couple of the buttons simultaneously on the front panel and holding for three seconds. The learning curve is little bit different for this dishwasher, but it doesn't bother me.
Rinse and Hold - This dishwasher doesn't have a rinse and hold cycle; but not to worry. I haven't found that I need one with this machine.
Delicate/ Eco - I'm not sure what Eco stands for, but this cycle is for washing china and crystal. I imagine this cycle would be good to use if you have a bunch of stored crystal and china that is dusty to rinse or wash off, otherwise this is a cycle that would rarely get used.., cause I don't know about you, but I'd never put my fine china in a dishwasher.
Delay Start -- With this dishwasher you can delay the start time for about 19 hours if you want to. Delay start is a nice feature to have on a dishwasher, because it allows you take advantage of off peak hours of electricity rates, or set the machine to come on when you go to bed. A dishwasher can't get any more silent when it comes on when you're countin' sheep.
Child Lock - Yep it has one. It keeps toddlers from changing the cycles
Heated Dry--The heated dry is not optional and seems to work just fine. I'm not even sure this machine has the traditional heating element that most people in USA may be used to. It uses a concealed element combined with condensation drying technology to dry the dishes. (No more melted plastics) A special unit in the motor is used to heat the water for rinsing and drying.. Usually around the last ten minutes or so of the cycle it reserves this time for drying. Because there is no exposed heating element, you can put your plastics anywhere you want in this dishwasher, even if the items say "top rack only". The only "problem" with the dry cycle is that it does not seem to dry plastics all that well, but this may not be an issue for you as it isn't for me. It's an issue for some people though.
Capacity -- Now this might be an issue for some people. This dishwasher DOES seem to be smaller in capacity than what most Americans are used to. My eye is not that discerning. But this shouldnt' be a problem as long as you are not loading the dishwasher with tons of pots and pans all the time. Pots and pans are something I tend to wash by hand. My other dishwasher had larger capacity but didn't clean the dishes worth a hootenanny, so I'll take the Bosch, thank you. :)
Flatware Rack -- The flatware rack is marvelous. It's what they call the flexible type. It's huge, and can be snapped back to back or side to side and has individual cubicles so the flatware doesn't get nested together. You can put the flatware basket anywhere you want to on the bottom rack or just use one half of the rack, (greatly improving loading space), if you don't have that much flatware to load. This model doesn't have a standard non-flexible cube flatware basket which has cubicle lids that can be snapped in the stay up position, however the cubicle lid on the flatware rack can be folded down flat to lay on the side.
Bottom Dish Rack -- The design of the bottom dish...Read more›

I thought I would do this as a service. I bought the 48inch outdoor grill with wok, with warming drawer, with side burners, with rotisserie, with subzero ice maker, with sub zero fridge in an integrated assembly for use in a semi-covered outdoor BBQ setup in Maui. I think the cost was over $20k and it was installed by the Thermador factory representatives. Everything was installed 5 years ago. I'll just go through a quick litany of issues. The fridge has had to be repaired twice, the IceMaker has had to have fans installed even though the specifications say that it can be installed with minimum clearance. The ice maker usually produces soggy ice - right near melting, and this is during winter months. We have had service people - also authorized work on it at least 7 times and we are presently having to put in more ducting and fans. The igniters have failed three times. The rotisserie has failed twice requiring about $300 in repair each time. The warming drawer needed complete replacement in the 2nd year and all of the fittings and electrical were deeply rusted and corroded. On top of this, I have never liked using it as it seemed uncontrollably hot. This is an LP conversion from the factory and the proper orifices were installed. When we brought up the problem to the installer servicer he first tried to solve it, but then said "they are all like this - there is no control". Last year I finally started to see if I could solve the problem and found that the continuous "infinity" adjustment controls on the front actually had no control - only on and off. They are market Off -Lite - Hi - and Lo. But none of the 3 zone controls adjusted the flame at all. We figured that something had been improperly installed. Integrated as part of this on the right side are two side burners. They work well, with continuous adjustment, as you would expect. The same with the Wok. I started probing more deeply and went back to the original manual for this model as well as two others in the series and it said that all burners have infinitely adjustable control. I finally went to the installers manual and saw the phrase: "LP options in the 48" inch version have no control". This was obviously discovered after the units were designed as whatever the problem that arose that kept them from offering this feature in the actual deliveries of their product - EVEN THOUGH THEIR INSTRUCTION MANUAL DESCRIBED IT AS A FEATURE - a feature that makes the entire BBQ useless if reasonable control of heat is important in your cooking. As I have gathered more information trying to figure out what to do next, I have learned that on Maui the authorized service men are recommending to people that they DO NOT BUY THERMADOR/BOSCH. It has been 5 years since I purchased this, so I don't know if I have any ability to claim damages, but it was never capable of fitness for use, so possibly there is a chance at some recovery, but my intent now is to warn people away from this brand. I have been doing some research and see that these are not isolated problems and that there are many brands superior to Thermador, some at quite a savings. - Just using this as a forum.

I've chandged my old cooktop with this one, it was the biggest mistake in my life. Such a problem. I'm not a messy person but it is imposible to keep it clean. I got a lot of cleaning products from Miele but still nothing works. My suggestion never ever buy this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The responsiveness afforded by a Miele gas cooktop is only matched by the product's performance. Equipped with at least one super burner, each new unit has a significant heat output. The super burner is conveniently located in the front of the cooktop, making wok stir-fry, pan sauteing or just big pot cooking practical and safe. Cooking with gas is not always about the power; control is essential too. Operating at a low heat output is often as important as a high power setting, and all Miele units allow you to do that. To minimize the heat further still, a simmer plate ensures excess heat is diverted away from the pan. Miele has resolved any safety concerns if the flame is put out with its unique re-ignition system. This solution combines the speed and reliability of automatic re-ignition with the flexibility of thermocouple protection. If a flame goes out for any reason, re-ignition is initiated. Should the flame not re-light, the system shuts down the flow of gas, ensuring optimal safety. The cooktop is watching out for itself, giving you one less thing to worry about. Miele's new collection of gas cooking surfaces represents powerful performance with a flexible design that allows you to choose a cooktop with the right look for your kitchen environment; hexa or contemporary linear design.

We bought this cooktop about 3 months ago. Loved the look and the low profile. The grates are sturdy and sit well on the surface. The knobs are easy to control and ignite. Auto electronic reignition works perfectly. Even if I were to blow the flame off (btw which takes some effort to do) it reignites very quickly automatically. This is one of the very few gas cooktops that have an LED light showing whether any of the burners is ON. This is very convenient as you can easily tell whether any of the burners is on (even if you cannot see the flame easily). Very safe, looks great and cooks great.
Another good feature is that the burners are at a very good distance from each other, allowing you to actually put 4 decent sized pans without interference. The knob positions are very intuitive as you don't have to think which knob corresponds to which burner.

Yes this dishwasher is quiet, and it gets the dishes clean IF you scrape every bit of food off and/or pre-rinse--just was I was hoping to get away from with my old cheapie. I also do like the deep space on the top shelf. Negatives include: silverware baskets that force you to put your forks and knives in with the points up (dangerous), sticks out so far that ugly red light show comes on every time I bump it and it latches, top shelf made for formal china dishes, not everyday mugs and various refrigerator storage containers so loading a challenge, no energy-saving selection for drying so everything gets fried and uses a lot of electricity, no garbage grinder (to keep it quiet) which is why dishes need to be really clean going in, controls are difficult to figure out. Next time I'll do my own research rather than taking the word of others. This will help the house "show" well when it goes on the market, but I'm glad I don't have to live with it for a long time. Oh, and it took my VERY handy husband, who has installed a dozen dishwashers, two days to get this one in. He was NOT a happy camper.

The water noises are disturbingly and annoyingly loud. Sounds like someone taking a shower in the middle of the kitchen. Or like it's raining. If you can, buy the version made in New Zealand by Fisher & Paykel. Which I have in my other house. They look almost exactly the same but the F&P-made one is so much quieter and smoother operating.

With this product Bosch is trashing its quality reputation.
We had a model SHU5315UC for 10 years. It worked like a charm, quiet as a teakettle and only gave off a slight 'hiss' that you couldn't hear 10 feet away. Unfortunately two off the pushbuttons went -- after 10 years no issue -- so we decided to replace with the equivalent model.
This is the one we got. Once it was installed and we ran it we couldn't beleive how loud it is -- yet it rates quiter than the old one! (52 db versus 54 db) -- HA HA HA. We can hear this both in the next room and upstairs --and it sounds like a cross between a herd of buffalo and Niagra Falls.
I immediately called Bosch and to their credit they send a certified technican out first thing this morning. His comment was this is what it should sound like. Reason? They use more plastic and less sound insulation than your old one! How can that be if it's supposed to be more quiet than the old one?
I will never buy a Bosch product again based on their apparent move to cheap construction.

No complaints on its ability to wash dishes. However, the metal latch which locks the door is very sharp. I sliced open my finger on it while loading the rack with some dishes and needed to get three stitches.
It's surprising to me, but I would have thought that a company like Whirlpool would have figured out by now that the parts inside the dishwasher shouldn't be sharp.

Bosch : HBL5650UC 30in Double Wall Oven - Stainless Steel Review

Bosch : HBL5650UC 30in Double Wall Oven - Stainless Steel

We bought a Bosch double wall about 6 years ago. It has broken several times. The latest problems are that the oven turns off randomly, the display is missing segments, and the hinges are deteriorating so that the top door hangs open slightly. Last time we called for service they told us that it was getting toward the end of its life and should probably be replaced. The elements have blown twice and are quite expensive to repair. We also had a problem where the oven would turn on by itself and get very hot.
We actually don't use the oven much. This oven was a terrible purchase. Expensive, unreliable, and doesn't even cook evenly. I realized later on that I had bought it without knowing anything about Bosch. It seemed like they should be a good brand. But out of 4 appliances, only 1 hasn't been replaced in a little less than 7 years. The dishwasher and washing machine also died. Only the dryer is left!

I bought this cooktop a few months back and me and my wife love it. Just like any other appliance you buy you must take care of it. I say this because I often read reviews on cookware, ect, where users have taken the appliance right up to the limits on a regular basis and expect consistent performance. To me this product is about all that you can expect out of a stainless steel cooktop for the price and I have no real complaints. Very good product that I would guy again.

The dishwasher lasted just over the 12 month warranty before stopping completely. When we had a repairman come out to look at it (and our Whirlpool fridge and our Whirlpool stove/oven), he told us it would be a three week wait for the new control panel (it's always the electronics in these things), and $250 for the part/labor. I am not dumping any more money into a Whirlpool product.
