I have had this dishwasher since October of 2010. I was a little leary based on other reviews I have seen on this model.
The reviews I've seen are either very good, or VERY bad. I went ahead and gave it shot. It does a great job of cleaning my dishes and is also VERY quiet. I don't have to prewash my dishes like I did with my old Whirlpool which is a plus.
You'll want to make sure to use a rinse aid EVERY wash, because it will affect the drying. You also do not want to open the dishwasher at all during the drying process, it will throw it off.
Glad I got one of the better ones and not a lemon like I've heard

We bought this dishwasher a month ago, and are generally pleased with it. It washes the dishes well, and is sufficiently adjustable to take tall items in either shelf. It is extremely quiet. It takes 105-120 minutes to run a cycle, but that's standard these days for energy efficient machines. I do wish that instead of a countdown, the LED display would show what part of the cycle it was at (wash, rinse, or dry).
Our major complaint is that the tines that separate and support the dishes aren't well suited for our dishes. They all slant, and they are fairly close together, so putting in glasses or mugs or pitchers is difficult, because you want them to stand vertically and the tines make this hard to accomplish. Because the tines are so close together, bowls will fit only if you lie them flat, taking up a lot of space per bowl. Our soup bowls are fairly curvy, not the flattish ones you find in elegant china, and there's really no way to stack them. (You can lie half the tines flat, but then there's no dish support at all.) Think about how _your_ dishes will fit in the dishwasher, before you choose this one.

Our Kitchenaid dishwasher died on Thanksgiving when we had 12 people over. I vowed never to have this problem again and bought what I thought was the best dishwasher available. This $900 Bosch died 3 weeks after installation on the day our company arrived for Christmas! It has been dead a week and we can not get anyone to fix it (bought at Pacific Sales) even though we bought a 3 yr maintenance agreement.
DONT GO NEAR IT!

Hello, I first want to clarify that we may have a slightly different model but it is a Bosch dishwasher.
Let me sum it up- unsafe. The Bosch does get dishes clean. It does not however remove the cleaner. After four service calls and much runaround for us after just 6 months we are getting a replacement.
We tried rinse agents different dishwasher options and even went as far as pouring vinegar on each load. We still get lots of bubbles when pouring a glass of water.
Considering we eat a lot of organic - you can imagine my wife's displeasure at pouring dishwasher fluid into our four children. With four children I got my wife a higher end model.
Bottom line - Boschs are Lemons in my view. They are not worth the premium you pay.
Sincerely dad of four.

This dishwasher is horrible. It's a bottom-of-the-line product that ships from the factory with known leaking issues. If you have this dishwasher and want to see what I mean, run your dishwasher empty. It will leak all over the floor.
For the second time in three months, I've had to call a repair person to come fix it. The power won't even turn on.
This dishwasher is less than a year old.
Garbage.

I give this dishwasher two stars because it does an ok job of washing dishes. However, we've had it less than 3 years and the touch pad has already stopped working, customer service stinks, the warrantee is short, the cycles are incredibly long and very loud. All in all, you can get much better for the same amount of money.

KitchenAid KUDS40FVPA 24in Dishwasher - Panel Ready Review

(More customer reviews)
We had a "builders model" dishwasher in our house for 10+ years. Worked fine, but was beginning to leave food on dishes and was pretty loud. After a couple of weeks of research we decided on the Architect II. There seems to be some give and take with any dishwasher, and we wanted the price to be around $1,000.00.
The Architect II series has been voted best dishwasher by a very respected consumer reporting agency, and has more good reviews than bad ones on various sites, so we decided to bite the bullet.
We live in Washington State, and knowing the dishwasher was coming from NYC I was a bit worried about damage in route. I told the delivery guy I was going to need to inspect the unit before he brought it inside, and he was really nice about it. He cut open the box, got the unit off it's pallet and walked away to let me inspect...flawless delivery.
The unit is all stainless inside and out, with the exception of the door exterior (which requires panel installation). I'm waiting on a cabinet guy to bring the panel...we have pretty unique cabinets so he had to order from a Canadian company after searching for a while (something for you to consider before buying).
I installed the unit in about an hour, but if you're not that handy I would recommend professional installation. The unit required hard-wire installation, which may be standard for dishwashers...I'm not sure, so you might be running to the hardware store.
I put a few pre-rinsed dirty dishes in it to begin, maybe a 1/4 load. The first wash is used to calibrate the internal food sensors, so it takes longer than your average load. Dishes looked good, dry, so I filled it up and now use it once a day at least (we're a family of 4).
This is by far the best dishwasher I've owned. I no longer rinse, in fact, I'm trying to challenge this thing...I can put the cooked-on grime from a slow-cooker on the top rack and it doesn't matter...they come out clean.
My wife laughs at me because I'm excited about washing dishes. It's kinda like my new toy. It's a power-tool I get to use everyday.
I would highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone shopping around. I can't wait for my panels get here and the dishwasher is camouflaged into the cabinetry.

This dishwasher does what it is supposed to do - washes my dishes. It was in the lower price range so I am not sure what people are spending so much $$ for with the higher priced washers. It is quiet too although my old one made a horrible racket in the end so I may not be a good judge on this aspect. I liked buying it from a small family company as well.

Whirlpool Gold GU2300XTVQ Full Console Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Sound Package - White Review

Whirlpool Gold GU2300XTVQ Full Console Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Sound Package - White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First and foremost, this does a very good job washing dishes. It is pleasantly quiet and has features that are useful, and then some.
It is a good value for money as a mid level appliance, which if you are careful, you can currently get in the $450-$500 price range (out-the-door price, but not including installation).
A few features that are very useful:
The Powerscour option, allows one to fold down one row of rack tines and conveniently face casserole dishes and baking pans directly into the flow of several water jets. It may not clean 100% of a heavily enameled food on a baking dish but it will soften even the toughest job to an easy wipe off removal. This is very convenient.
While I've not thought about noise from a dishwasher as a feature before, this machine has a soft kind of processing noise that is more reassuring than distracting.
The utensil rack fits neatly in the door. It is also flexibly designed so it can be moved to the bottom rack. This is an efficiency gain on other models because it leaves more space to do other dishes on the bottom rack.
The rinse aid is used very efficiently. It seems that 1/4 cup of rinse aid will last for about 4 dishwasher loads, and you do not need to refill in between.
A few improvements would move this from "very good" to "excellent":
The tine rows on the bottom rack are either not spaced wide enough or not constructed in such a way as to properly secure plates. They will roll and even crash into other dishes with even slight movement of the bottom rack. Anytime one pulls out the rack or tips it with the door, the plates will shift and often roll and clang into other dishes.
The silverware slots in the door utensil holder are too small and spaced too tightly. One can get scratched too easily trying to maneuver too many utensils into the too tightly spaced slots. Rather than cramming 11 utensils into one tiny compartment, maybe 9 with slightly larger slots. With two open compartments, there would still be enough room to accommodate 14 place settings total (42+ utensils).
Even with a rinse aid, the dishwasher does not quite get the dishes dry, even if they sit another hour after the heated dry cycle has completed. This is not a big deal to me, having small residues of water remaining, but would move this from very good to excellent.
A few minor improvements also,
Simplicity makes things better. There are a bit too many buttons on the console, crammed together. Eliminating say a button for one cycle and one option and one delay start option would help a lot. (My suggestions would be combine "china" and "express wash", combine "high temperature wash" and "sani-rinse" option, and eliminate the 4 hour delay start (leaving 2 and 6 hours).
The adaptive wash cycle could be made much more flexible to accommodate the size of a load and its dirtiness, it doesn't seems to vary much in time of wash cycle but could be very useful if it greatly customized the wash cycle to the particular load.
In the end, the quality of workmanship will prove itself out. My expectation is 10 years with no repairs, we'll see. I will be delighted to get 14 years plus.
Overall, this is a good value and does its main purpose of washing well, drying not so well.

I've owned this dishwasher for about a year and a half, and for the most part it has performed very well. However, recently it seems to like to stall in the middle of its cycles for no reason. The knob just stops turning while it's on, so it may keep running "in place" and won't progress beyond that point. We haven't had it serviced yet to find out what the resolution might be, but it's very frustrating to have to take your dirty dishes out of the dishwasher to clean in the sink because it won't do what it's supposed to do. And, the water in the dishwasher sits in there until I scoop it out. The filter has been cleaned, so that's not the culprit.

We are a family of five with standard home kitchen use. We wanted a dishwasher that cleans well, is simple to use, and has a steel tub. We wanted the stainless tub to avoid the ugly stains that every other washer I have ever owned invetibably got. However, an added bonus outside of looks, is that with a steel tub you can easily side mount the dishwasher, which is a must if you own granite or stone counter tops. We installed the machine ourselves and have owned it for a little over a month:
1. Super quiet at 52dB and does not interfere with conversations, tv, radio, or anything while running.
2. Very easy to use and simple control set up
3. Stainless tub and used to side mount
4. Bottom has wide channels for the water and electrical hook ups, which made installation much easier.
5. Water connection is in the front for easy access, again making installation easy.
6. Cleans our stemware and coffe cups better than any machine I have ever owned. Absolutely no residue.
7. Pots and pans cleaned well with no pre-rinse or scrubbing on my part.
8. The bowl placement for the top rack is not as good as it appears in the pictures, but the bottom rack handles them very well. Top is good too, but you have to space them every third or second post.
9. The top rack is adjustable and has mounts for stem ware, and as wine drinkers, I have loved this function.
10. I have never owned an LG before, but based on my experience so far, I would buy again and recommend to anyone.

This dishwasher has been discontinued...why is it even for sale on your site? We bought this dishwasher a little over 13 months ago and it just stopped working the other day....the repair man said the touch pad went bad ($300 fix) and that it is also under the Maytag recall due to the heating element catching on fire!!

Samsung DMT800RHS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel Review

Samsung DMT800RHS Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this model only about a week, and I like it a lot so far. I replaced a 13 yr old Whirlpool that was still working, just really noisy. I was a little hesitant at first seeing some of the DMT300 reviews on dish drying, but my unit does not seem to be having any trouble with this. I used the rinse aid as suggested and our dishes are dryer and cleaner than with our old dishwasher.
I like the display on the front that indicates which cycle it is in. The control buttons are hidden on top, so the cool blue indicator lights on front are nice. The inside of the unit seems bigger than our old model, and it is definitely bigger than some of the Bosch units we looked at. While it is not "silent", I find the noise level to be quite low.
This unit is easy to install yourself, however there are a couple of important points that you should know if you are replacing an old dishwasher:
1) The unit does not come with a power cord, so make sure to pull the one from your old unit. Actually, this is pretty absurd not to have one!
2) You must add a 90 deg, 3/8" elbow for the water line. It also is not included so you will have to buy one. Again, this is absurd!
3) You don't need to keep the drain hose since it is attached to the back of the unit.
4) The power and water supply are on the front bottom of the unit behind the kickplate. Nice for access, however if your old parts are not long enough to reach to the front then you will need new ones.
Overall I am pleased with the unit so far. If anything changes I will update my review.

(More customer reviews)
As usual, I spent a whole lot of time looking for a replacement dishwasher. Looked at a lot of models, and narrowed the choices down to models from Whirlpool, Bosch and KitchenAid.
The high end Bosch and Kitchenaid models were great - read nothing but good things (for the most part) about their performance, and they are very, very quiet. But, cost was a factor, and I just couldn't see paying more than one grand for a dishwasher (and some are a LOT more than a grand!).
Looked into Whirlpool since they get excellent reliability ratings from the "consumer" magazine. This model caught my eye since it offered a fully-integrated panel (i.e., the controls are hidden) and some nice convenience features. So far, it has been a top-notch performer.
The potscrubber feature works very well, and is identical to the one on the Kitchenaid (not unexpected, since Whirlpool owns Kitchenaid). Love the movable cutlery basket! You can hang it on the door for more room, or put it on the front or side of the lower tray. If loaded properly, silverware comes out clean no matter where you put the basket. If, however, you tend to just toss in forks and spoons and not arrange them, you'll want to put the basket on the lower rack so it gets more direct spray time.
The interior is light gray with a tile-type pattern. It's plastic, so it's not as fancy looking as stainless. But, I care more about what the dishwasher looks like from the outside, and the stainless steel outside looks great. It also has a unique feature among hidden control models in that the steam vent is on the front of the machine, and not the top. That's important to keep the steam from hitting the bottom of your counters. Can't figure out why everyone else doesn't do it that way.
Many different cycles to choose from including regular, adaptive (which uses sensors to figure out what to do), high temp and sanitary rinse. Lots of nice little touches, such as foldable tines and clips to hold light plastic items so they don't flip over during the wash cycle.
Noise levels are very low. No, it is not as whisper quiet as a higher end machine, but the sound level is not at all objectionable.
Excellent value - lots of features, works well, looks great, holds a boat-load of dishes, and has lots of convenience features. Can't ask for more than that!
>>>>>>>Update June 2010: It's been a year since I've had this, and I'm still 100% satisfied with the machine. I run about 2-3 loads per week and so far I've not had one item not come out perfectly clean. I use an enzyme-based detergent and the rinse-aid. Settings that work for me are adaptive wash with the high-temp option.
I usually run the machine after dinner and then unload it the next morning. To save on electricity, I don't use the heated dry. I find that dishes come out completely dry, but plastic items are sometimes damp, especially if it's humid out. Usually the plastic is not damp enough to warrant a towel dry except for a few pieces that I have with a recessed base - enough water collects in the indentation to warrant a quick pass with a towel before putting it back into the shelf.
I've tried the sanitizing rinse and that does help dry items a little bit better. I tend to use that only when I have really greasy dishes and want an extra high temp rinse to ensure all grease is gone.
Zero mechanical problems so far. Hope this keeps up!

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KUDS40CVSS Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Steel Review

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KUDS40CVSS Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This spring I bought one of these KUDS40CV dishwashers with a black finish. I previously had a midrange Whirlpool and, although I had been very happy with its performance, I thought this machine would be an upgrade.
After the first load was washed, I found silverware coated with mustard residue, bowls festooned with lettuce leaves, etc. I realized the bottom rack had fallen off the molded tracks and prevented the spray arm on the bottom from turning. The rack was not wide enough! My husband and I started carefully positioning it before turning on the dishwasher. We contacted the local appliance business where it had been purchased. They contacted KitchenAid. The repair guy recommended that we contact KitchenAid, too.
Weeks after we both had been bombarding KitchenAid with emails and phone calls, we received a box with an identical bottom rack. More bombarding of the customer service office and more time elapsed. Finally another box arrived with a new rack. Had the rack been redesigned so it was wider? Nope. The only change was that the four plastic parts that hold the wheels and are attached to the corners of the rack were wider. Did that change fix the problem? Not really. Just about every time I pull out the rack, the wheels track off, the rack falls out of position, and the dishes rattle and shift while I proclaim a choice word or two about this $900 dishwasher that has such bad engineering on a component that should have been a no-brainer. Doesn't anybody test these things during the design process? The latest development is that the front wheel on the left side has started popping out of the assembly. It's time to start bombarding KitchenAid again.
Other issues:
1. This model has a timer that is useless because our water heater is on the other end of the house. The new Energy Star dishwashers use so little water that unless I run and run water through the kitchen sink until it's warm, the dishes won't get clean. Too bad the EPA doesn't care about wasted water.
2. The normal cycle is easily twice as long as my former dishwasher. According to the manual, "some cycles and options will take up to 3.5 hours to complete." How is this energy efficient?
3. There is only a flimsy silvery wide strip of tape that serves as a moisture barrier between the top of the dishwasher and the bottom of the countertop. Our installer managed to crinkle it. Other reviewers claim that if you open the dishwasher before the end of the cycle, moisture is vented out the top.
To be fair, there are a few things I do like about this model:
1. It's quieter.
2. The stainless steel interior results in drier dishes if you wait to unload the dishwasher.
3. There is a bar indicator that shows how much Jet Dry is left.
4. The tall tub design easily accommodates wine glasses, vases, etc. on the top rack. The rack has two positions that allow it to be repositioned for even taller items.
5. The silverware basket has slots for each individual piece of silverware as well as open spaces for larger utensils.
6. There are Sure-Hold clips on the top rack that allow plastic lids and lightweight items to be secured so they won't fall or tip over during the cycle.
