(More customer reviews)Put simply, these knives are superior to any other knives I have ever owned and equivalent or better than any others I have tried. I had intended to buy either some Wusthof or Henckels knives and tried them out at a local vendor, then I heard about these knives on [...] so I decided to give them a try. They perform perfectly in my kitchen and I can't believe how amazing they are for the $350 price tag. I especially enjoy the Granton edge as it keeps food from sticking to them. Also, the knife block is more sanitary than simple slotted ones and you can see which knife you are grabbing as opposed to randomly grabbing as knife from the block and getting your Santoku when you wanted your Chef's knife or a paring knife when you wanted a tomato knife. Be sure to buy yourself a nice bamboo cutting board to go with them, as well, as this will keep them sharp for longer.If you're thinking about buying these knives, do yourself a favor and just buy them, you won't regret it!

Shun Classic 6-Piece Knife Set with Bamboo Block Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this set for my significant other at Christmas. I looked around at Wusthof, Global, and a few others but liked the unique look and feel of these better. I also figured these would be more comfortable and easier to wield for a female. The end result is that she really enjoys them. Although she has fairly large hands for a woman, the handles fit her nicely.
The knives come very sharp and hold their edge for a long time. It will be interesting to see how well they take to a professional sharpening. Overall, I am happy that I purchased this set.
There is one caveat. I also do quite a bit of cooking and have large hands. After using the Shuns for a couple of months, I have come to the conclusion that the Wusthof Grand Prixs fit me better and feel sturdier. I cannot really justify having two sets of expensive knives around the house, so we will be keeping the Shuns. My advice: Go to Sur La Table or Williams-Sonoma and handle the knives yourself. Feel the weight, notice the handle shape, and decide what fits you best. There are so many quality manufacturers of cutlery now that it is hard to go wrong with any of the selections.

(More customer reviews)this is the second sharp microwave i've had and with both, the digital display failed after brief episodes without power. unfortunately, the failed part costs as much as a new microwave. the first microwave we threw out. the second is still under warranty and will be fixed. sharp's authorized service center advised me that this 'happens a lot with sharps' and told me that they currently had seven more in the shop for the same problem. in fact, the part is on back order and i'm waiting for it before my oven can be serviced! sharp denies a problem! i find it hard to believe that they are unaware of huge orders for this 'board' that controls the digital display. my advise is to stay away from sharp microwaves until sharp fixes this obvious problem.

Saber SKS Pro Chef 11-Piece Professional Knife Set Review

(More customer reviews)Ordered the 11 piece set sans chef bag. Have a built in knife block so no need. The knifes are very good quality. Bought an Ikea chef knife just to compare and the Saber knifes are noticable higher quality. Only concern was it appeared that someone simply repackaged the knife and chef bag combo, because once I opened the Amazon box, there was a plane box inside with the knifes. The box had no identifying makings, and there was no information on the knifes, or anything that identified the manufacturer. Heck, I at least expected a warantee card. After sleeping on it and doing a little research, I'm willing to bet that someone separated the knife set from the chef bag. I checked on the Saber web site and they don't offer the 11 piece set separate from the bag. Still worth the price, just don't expect anything but the knives.

(More customer reviews)I completely gutted my kitchen for a modern remodel. I decided I would not get a regular oven or a regular microwave. I wanted to combine the two. That's what this unit does. So far I have cooked a few fish dishes and a cornish hen. All turned out perfectly. Certainly better than when I did them in the old Jenn-Air that was junked. The cavity is smaller than a "normal" oven, but that's what helps it heat so well and efficiently. I have this unit in a cablinet on top of the counter top just above waist level. So far it has done very well and it can easily replace a normal oven.

(More customer reviews)It's hard to get excited about a microwave oven. Mine came with the apartment (new) and stopped functioning after 3 years. Because it's built into the cabinet, I have to buy the exact same one again, so that it'll fit the space. This model has a large turntable which is convenient for accomodating large plates. The sensor is not sensitive, so it is best to rely more on the timed cooking functions than on the sensor. Sometimes, using the sensor can cause your food to be too hot.

(More customer reviews)We installed Sharp model KB6524 in June 2009 during a kitchen remodel. Every appliance in our kitchen is new and this particular appliance is my favorite due to the uniqueness and convenience of this model. This microwave has exceeded our expectations in every way. One of the reasons we bought this microwave was that we needed a microwave that would fit under the countertop so our kids could reach it. It is also nice that the door slides open and I can reach down to lift out the food instead of having to reach up at face level and lift food out and down. I liked the unique concept of a drawer that pulls open instead of a door that pops open. I was a little concerned about reviews on earlier models that the auto open and close function on this microwave has a tendency to break. However, it seems that Sharp decided to manufacture this one so it closes with a button or by pushing or pulling on it to eliminate that problem. I was also concerned that it didn't have a piece in it that rotates the food. So, we were surprised to find that none of the food we have cooked has hotspots (note: I only use my microwave for reheating...not cooking). I LOVE this microwave. I had considered purchasing the 30" but decided that it was unlikely that I would need to put a dish in the microwave that was bigger than 24". So far, this has been the perfect size. It is even tall enough that I can put my portable mug in it to heat up my tea. Also, my lovely daughter did not know that you can't put metal in the microwave. She put her fork in with her plate. Surprisingly, the microwave did not arch. We checked the manual and it said you can even use aluminum foil to cover portions of meat. Not sure how they do it, but I'm not likely to try it. The microwave seems fine after the fork episode. This microwave also has programmable features such as softening ice cream. It asks what size of ice cream then sets the time as appropriate. It's a nice feature but I'm not usually softening a whole tub of ice cream. Just a portion of a tub. One other feature I use frequently, pushing the power button after closing the drawer will turn on the microwave in one minute increments. As an example, pushing the button 3 times will equate to 3 minutes. This is a pricey microwave but has been well worth the expense in our experience. I highly recommend this microwave!

Fortunately, this one not only fits perfectly, but it has more features than the last one. And, it is less expensive. And, it works faster. The good: fast, attractive, lots of features, big. The bad: nothing really, except my wife wishes the buttons were slightly larger. I think microwaves are one of the few products that get better and cost less with time. Highly recommended.
