My daughter and son in law bought this for me since my Pampered chef set was not holding up very well. I have used this for the past 3 weeks and it is easy to cook with and to clean up in. I haven't used the set in the oven yet but I absolutely love it. The only thing is that i now have to wash the cookware by hand but it has been so easy to clean that I don't mind not using my dishwasher. I love that the small sauce pan has a pour spout on each side of it and it also has holes on the lid so that you can drain without having to dirty a colander. It come with two very large frying pans. One is deep and since children come over with their families to eat I need the deep and large size. I haven't needed to use my electric skillet since. I love the pot being more narrow and tall so that it fits much better on the burner and cooks more evenly. It is very durable and you don't have to worry if one the kids use a metal spoon in it instead of the plastic spoons. I still use the plastic spoons since i had them for all my other cookware. The handles on the lids to get hot but it is no problem for me to use a hot pad to take them off. I rather have the handles holding up for a long time. I plan for this to be my last cookware set and at this price you can't beat that.

This is a great cookware set for the price. Nonstick surface is great and they work as great as they look. Just hope the coating lasts.

A useful collection for any busy kitchen, this 11-piece cookware set includes a 10-inch omelette, a 12-inch covered omelette, a 1-1/2-quart covered sauce pan, a 2-1/2-quart covered sauce pan, a 3-quart covered saute, and an 8-quart covered stock pot. The omelette pans provide a wide base and gently curved sides--great for flipping omelets or sliding them gracefully from the pan to a plate. Put the 3-quart covered saute to use for one-dish meals like chicken and rice; employ the 8-quart covered stock pot when making soups, stews, or pot roasts. The sauce pans come in handy for cooking breakfast oatmeal, making homemade marinara sauce, or boiling water for pasta. The collection of essentials allows for cooking up just about anything--from a variety of family favorites to new culinary creations.
Calphalon's Contemporary Nonstick cookware features a hard anodized-aluminum exterior with three layers of proprietary nonstick coating on the interior for lower-fat cooking options and effortless food release. The cookware's long handles stay comfortably cool on the stovetop, come riveted for strength, and offer hanging holes for convenient storage when not in use. Loop handles on the stock pot and an opposite helper handle on the saute make the vessels easy to transport, even when full. In addition, the cookware's tempered-glass covers, each with a stainless-steel rim and riveted loop handle, help trap in heat, moisture, and nutrients. Oven-safe up to 450 degrees F, the cookware should be hand washed and used with nylon, coated, or wooden utensils only to protect the nonstick coating.

Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set Review

Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

I absolutely love Circulon "Infinite" cookware! It does everything that's promised, and goes into the dishwasher too! Believe me; this can be a very important feature if quick and easy cleanup is important you. Yet, that is not my only reason for giving this product a five star rating. I've owned many brands of cookware over the years, and for one reason or another, they have fallen short of my expectations. Yes, even my Calphalon cookware can't hold a candle to Circulon "Infinite." For instance, I've had a couple Calphalon frying pans for more than a year now. I tend not to use them because their non-stick properties are lacking--so much so that making eggs "over-easy" is almost impossible. I've tried several different things to correct this problem, but no matter what I've tried, food continues stick, which not only makes cooking more difficult, but it makes cleanup more difficult as well. Another problem that I have is that the bottoms of my Calphalon pans have a slight curve to them; as a result they don't sit firmly on my burners. On the other hand, however, each of my "Infinite" cookware pieces have a flat bottom, which allows them to sit firmly on my burners, and I never have a problem with food sticking to them.

My girlfriend and I have recently moved in together and have double sets, one is this set, the other a Wal-Mart Stainless Steel set.
This set is much more efficient and enjoyable to cook with, it is light weight, durable, and heats up quick on both gas and electric stoves. Need to make sure to use plastic/wood utensils since metal will scratch the surface, and to set the heat to medium at the highest as it will cause the cookware to overheat. Other than habit changing on my part, this has been great cookware that I would buy again.

This is a beautiful set of cookware and, I think, a great value...I paid $189.99 for 17 pieces, 15 of which are pots, pans & lids and 2 inserts..for pasta and for steaming. I like that there are 2 of the same size lid. You always get 1 lid that fits 2 items in the set and I would always use them at the same time and only be able to cover 1. No worries with this set--there is 1 lid for each. Also, I did a lot of price shopping before I picked this one and it's the only brand that calls it 17-piece and gives you all cookware. Every other set I saw that was over, say, 10 pieces-- the extra was knives or plastic utensils vs pots and pans. If it was 17 pieces, 7 to 9 of them were bowls, utensils, knives, etc. Rip offs for the prices they charged. And finally..the outside is nice and smooth, not ringed or otherwise textured...makes for nice cleanup and hopefully they'll stay nice looking longer than their predecessors. The ONLY thing I'm not thrilled with is that the lid handles do get warm...even hot. The pot and pan handles don't, but the lids definitely do. But for the price and quality? I have potholders.... Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. What the heck..5 it is!

KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Stainless Steel Non Stick Cookware Sets Review

KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Stainless Steel Non Stick Cookware Sets

KitchenAid knows how to build appliances, so its no surprise to see them do such a good job with cookware. As you might have read, these are HEAVY stainless steel cast cookware--tho they arent actually THAT heavy. They're SOLID. On the bottom of these pots and pans, are 3/8's of an inch of SOLID STAINLESS STEEL. If you have a radiant heat stove, with a ceramic top, this type of cookware is perfect for your type of stove. Aluminum and copper bottom pans cause metal marks on ceramic topped stoves. And, if you use lighter versions of steel cookware, the WAY that radiant heat behaves between HIGH and LOW settings, means you will not have a good, continuous heat source under your food. If you cook with gas, you raise or lower the flame, and adjust the heat. If you have electric elements, about half the electric element turns off, for medium heat. Or, just a small part will not turn on, for medium high heat, etc. BUT...radiant heat works like a microwave works when set below HIGH. ITs turning ON, then OFF, then ON, then OFF, etc, when you have medium heat. If you are using low heat, the element turns ON, and then its off for quite awhile, and turns ON again. With cookware that has less steel thickness on the bottom, that CAN be a real problem. However, because of the thickness of the steel here, it heats up, and HOLDS THE HEAT STEADY, while your stove's radiant heat element keeps turning ON, off, ON, off, ON, off, etc. This gives you an EVEN FLOW OF HEAT on your food. IF you are making a butter sauce, saulding milk, or any type of cooking that requires low heat, you know you want even heat, and not a blast of HOT, and then nothing. You'll notice at first, these heavier pans take a little longer to heat up. BUT THEY HOLD THE HEAT NICE AND EVEN. And that is the secret to cooking success on radiant heat. The lighter the pan you use on these stoves, the less success you have cooking between HIGH HEAT settings, and OFF.
This set of cookware would suit a gourmet chief, or anyone who does serious cooking at home. Their design is beautiful, and practical. The lids surface of super high polished stainless steel looks like the reflecting mirror of a telescope. The saucepans and frypans beg to be hung above the stove. Practicality requires it when cooking complex, multi-course meals which demand access to many saucepans and frypans. The handles, including the lid handles, are covered with that new rubberized looking material, that conducts no heat. (So you can forget about potholders, or burning yourself by grabbing a lid handle to check cooking progress, etc. I've lit potholders on fire, or burnt myself forgetting to use them far too often, so I's sold on this stay cool handle/lid coating.) The 8 various pots and pans handle nearly ANY type of cooking method, or food amount, you might throw at it. I estimate you could prepare a Thanksgiving feast for a large family without a problem. You have the 3 saucepans, 3 quart, 2 quart, and 1.5 quart. Then, you have the BIG soup kettle that's an 8 quart, 10 inch wide, 7 inch deep beauty. (On these ceramic topped stoves, you actually CANT USE a kettle much bigger than that, for fear of cracking your stovetop.) Then, you have the two frypans, an 8 inch and a 10 inch version. The only pan that doesnt have a lid that fits over it, is that 8 inch frypan. There's the 11 inch wide stove top wok pan for stir fries, etc. (Its like a wok with a flat bottom.) To top it all off, there's the all purpose super sized pan. Its a 3 quart, 2.5 inch deep, 10 inch wide, "shallow fryer". When you have a recipe calling for 1.5 inches of hot oil for french fries, or tempura, or whatever, that's THIS pan. Because of the pan's weight, there's a great safety feature. You grab this pan by the long extended handle, along with the second "lid-like" handle on the opposite side, and avoid spillage. Since you can easily lift pan and contents from both sides simultaneously, it doesnt drag over the top of your stove. You maintain the pan's level balance, while distributing the weight on both arms. This set's design combines ergonomic considerations with esthetic qualities quite well. The 6 lids fit tightly over the various pans, tho they arent vented. This shouldnt be a problem, as long as you control your cooking heat. When your cooking heat stays in the pan, you save money, and the kitchen stays cooler. But for some, it may take a bit of getting used to, if you presently use vented lids to let steam escape.
I've tested these pans now, and have found no real problems. If you keep your stovetop clean, the pan bottoms will remain clean, and shouldn't oxidize. Teflon doesn't peel or scratch off, so long as you use the proper cooking utensiles. So, let your new pans last, and spend a few bucks on some good, non stick stirring spoons, a ladel, spatula, etc. If you clean teflon cookware with a blue multi-purpose no scratch scrub sponge, and an ounce of common sense, then you wont have anything to complain about. I love teflon, cos for starters, I like to use as little oil to fry food as possible. Beyond that gastronomic consideration, I just HATE SCRUBBING POTS AND PANS CLEAN. You soak these, you wipe them, you're done. I'd recommend this cookware set to anyone who seriouly loves to cook. Especially cooks who hate to clean up, and ESPECIALLY cooks with radiant heat stoves. Guten Essen!
