(More customer reviews)Purchas on in August of 09. Beautful, goes extreamly will with the kitchen dacore. After uncrating it, and installing it, the oven wouldn't light. Called the Appliance CO., told them the problem, and thee wanted to send a technition. I would not accept repairs to a almost $3,000.00. brand new range. They agreed to replace it. Two weeks I received a new 36" Fisher Paykel range. After uncrating it and installing it , the broiler would not ignite. I agreed to have the thechnition to have a look. It was a monor adjustment to the ignitor. Three months later my wife was eiher under baking or was burning cakes and pies. I called the service dept. they sent out a technition they could not find the problem. 2 months after that, I purchas a oven thermomiter, and the oven only reached 275 after 45 minutes, set on 350deg. called them, they dismanteled the oven, and took two months to get the parts to repair it. After complaining to Fisher Paykel for 4 of the two months the finnaly decided to refund the cost of the Range. Would not recomend this product.

It took over a week to wade through the muck in there customer service Dept before I found a great young lady to help me. I don't think I will ever buy a large appliance on line again

DCS CP-364GL-SSN Cooktop 36, 6 Burner, Natural Gas Review

(More customer reviews)I am writing this review to help spare others what we are going through right now. We bought a DCS grill seven years ago and the customer service was amazing. We love the grill and the customer service experiences we had during that purchase led us to purchase the DCS 48in gas cooktop with grill and griddle. I wish we had realized they have been bought by another company! Our NEW cooktop we paid around $3800.00 for came to use with missing parts and a drip try that was installed so poorly it would not open. The tray alignment is off and it bent the frame. We called DCS immediately expecting the same amazing customer service we had gotten several years ago and were stunned at their reaction which was basically "too bad". They refused to replace the cooktop and were of no help at all. We went as far up the chain as possible with nothing but the same run around. They insisted that we get it serviced - OUR BRAND NEW $3800.00 COOKTOP - serviced! They would not even consider helping us until we had a service company come out and try to fix our new appliance. They said that the service company would have to deem it irreparable before they would "try to resolve it" - not replace it. The servicemen worked on the drip tray and although it now pulls out, it has to be forced. They are ordering the missing parts from DCS and those should be in sometime after Christmas. When you purchase an appliance that costs that much and claims to be a high-end product, you expect the customer service to match their claims. This cooktop should have been replaced immediately and we cannot believe the hoops we are having to go through. Furthermore, we are afraid of the issues we may have to face in the future. What else is wrong with this thing - how did it get damaged - is the quality control so poor that they marked parts as included yet they weren't? Did they actually inspect this cooktop before it left their warehouse? We are so angry and are trying to work through the process but I am strongly urging you to choose something else!!!

(More customer reviews)After much searching for a new gas range and also trying one of the name brands out there, namely a Frigidaire, we settled on this one. We have had many nightmeres trying to find a simple gas stove as the new modern ones with their electronic controls cost a fortune to replace when they go. My old one only last three years before the electronic oven control went. I hated the sealed burners, everything takes longer to cook and heat up. The only benefit they have is clean up and thats much to be desired. If you cook with a wok, you can't used sealed burners as they don't get hot enough. so our goal was to find a simple stove, so it would last us for many years. Well, you can't fnd them out there. So I started researching on the internet. I found several G.E.s and everytime I would try to order them.....oh, they have been discontinued. So my husband found this premier which you can't find many of in stores in NYS. I don't know about other places. I couldn't find a review either. So we jumped in and took a chance and we are SOOOOOO glad we did. This stove is made in the U.S.A. their website gives you complete details on how well made they are and they have not lied about that either. Its the most well built stove I have seen in many many years. The center burner can be changed to be a griddle. The only problem we had was that the porcelain griddle cover didn't sit flat and so I called them and they said they would put one in the mail to me, no questions asked. Its nice to get a company in this country that tells you the truth and isn't trying to sell you a bunch of gimmicks to get you to buy their stove. This stove has all you need, is well built and will last for years, plus in the event of a power failure, you can still light it with a match, not something you can do with the new electronic controls. so it is the only one out there to me that rates a five star. If the stars went higher, I would give them all to this range. You won't be sorry to give them a try.

(More customer reviews)The "fit and finish" on the range is excellent. It does not look or feel cheap and at a suggested retail of $999 it shouldn't. The oven is huge and is the main point of surprise for friends when the check out our new stove. Despite having a "Chicken Nuggets" setting, you will not be be using this huge oven for chicken nuggets unless you have a Girl Scout Troop to feed. The controls are clear and easy to learn although "convect convert" requires some reading. After seeing this stove at a retail store, continuous grates and 5 burners seemed like the obvious choices and I cannot wait until turkey day to have the whole cook-top covered with pots and pans. My only personal wish for this stove would be that the gigantic quick boil burner an the front right would be at the right rear position. I have used the right front burner to cook eggs for years and this huge burner is to large for my egg pan. However, the gas iron griddle is great for quesadillas, grilled sandwiches, pancakes, etc. I would not use it for bacon or burgers as this would likely create a greasy splatter mess. This is a great range.

Whirlpool GGE388LXS GGE388LXS Freestanding Double Electric Wall Oven Review

(More customer reviews)Overall a very good, but pricey range. We purchased it about two weeks ago, so do not yet have extensive experience with it. It replaced a GE smooth top range, simply because of a remodel to stainless steel appliances.
The reasons for purchasing this range were because of the dual oven design, Whirlpool ratings, and this unit has the largest top oven of any units of this design. Also, it matched a previously purchased Whirlpool gold french door refrigerator.
So far the only negatives we have encountered are preferences. The hot surface warning light is about the size of a pin head, as opposed to the old GE's much larger light, and the clock uses a blue light, which is hard to read at a distance. Also, the unit has one "feature" which was probably mandated by safety concerns issued by someone who has never baked anything - when the timer goes off, it turns the oven off. So, if you need another minute or two, you have to go through the oven preheat cycle again. This is minor, and can be circumvented by purchasing an auxillary timer, but it is an irritation which is unnecessary. A much better solution would have been to make turning the oven off a programmable option.

(More customer reviews)I have this product in the stainless steel but it's the 5 burner one. The 5th burner went out already in less than a year! Does not turn on. The top part is very hard to clean it stays greasy looking and hard to keep it shining and clean looking. Also calling it a double oven is not accurate. If you use the top part as an oven instead of a broiler it will burn your food on the bottom because the heat source is right there so you can't really use it as an oven without burning the bottom. I made cookies on the top and the bottom burned while the top didn't brown. Not a good product I don't recommend it. Not worth the price.

(More customer reviews)An afternoon of visiting a few stores and a price match with 10% off, brought the price down to about $1800. Still not cheap... but we found out quickly that today, $1000 doesn't even buy you a nice gas stove with extra features... just a gas stove cheaply made. We've owned this for about 2-months and it's fun to cook again! I can actually cook with 5 large pots and pans at the same time! They moved the burners out 3-inches, so it's still 30" but you have more cooking area. I can boil water in 5 minutes, program it to shut off after the food has cooked for a set period of time, and the center burner cooks pancakes and bacon just perfectly at 6000 BTU's (all other stoves with oval center burners were 5000 BTU's). Sorry, haven't tried the convection yet.... but it converts automatically. Have read other people's concerns over the fan noise, honestly we haven't noticed, but most of our cooking is done well under 425 degrees. The stove will give you a nice commercial look, one burner gives you professional level 18,000 BTU's, and for the price it's a great choice. If you're a professional chef/cook, I can't imagine you would be happy, it would be all look and not enough power. But for us, large family, cooking 2-meals at home per day, sometimes different items for the finicky kid, it had all the extra features we wanted at a great price without getting into a commercial stove with a big price tag.

Danby DR399BLSGLP 30 Gas Range Review

Cons- cheap handles, incorrect label on gas shut off (took a lot of frustration before we realized the instructions were upside down), only comes with the propane converter hex nuts for 4 of the six burners and though we ordered and paid for the other two in October we still haven't gotten them (boo, Danby!), front foot (cosmetic part only) came broken (does not bear the actual weight of the range, so we super glued it back in place and you can't even see the repair seam), shipped idiotically with the entire weight of the burner covers on the base of the oven and bent it (popped back out into shape easily enough), instructions are not very clear, came with a piece we STILL don't know what the heck is for...it's not in the instructions at all...
I know. That is a LOT of cons (mostly on the installation). Now...
Pros- Two sizes of burners and their different BTUs give excellent flexibility you don't find on a lot of stove tops, oven capacity is extremely large, temp on oven is true and accurate, easy to clean (even around the burners themselves!), and price...you CANNOT beat it.
Overall: What sold us on this particular range was the price. We have a large family and not a lot of extra cash. When our old stove started belching propane flames halfway to the ceiling, we took it as a sign we had to get a new one! We looked at Home Depot and Sears and had sticker shock. Looking around online, we came here and saw this oven. I challenge you to find any other 6-burner range for even close to this price. The best we found in this price range was a small, 4-burner, lower BTU "America" brand one at Home Depot...and they charged for delivery and installation on top of the $499 price tag. I can tell you for a fact that the quality of that one was much lower than this...the sheet metal popped when we opened the door of it in Home Depot and the saleswoman tried to talk us into one that was $400 more. Yikes!
Also, I have been pleasantly surprised with the level of propane we've been using. I think the combo of the smaller burners and larger burners tips the scale for this aspect. It uses way less propane for stovetop cooking than our old range did (even before the ghastly flames of doom problem). I HIGHLY reccommend using the smaller burners for any pot that's 2 qt or smaller, and save the larger burners for large stock pots and deep frying.
Would this be my dream oven? If I had unlimited funds I'd have a pro kitchen...ahh...to dream. No. This is NOT my "dream" oven. However, five stars all the way for 6 burner range that's actually affordable, works better than our old range, costs LESS to run, and has already helped me make some great food for my family.

Bosch Evolution 500 Series : HGS5053UC 30 Freestanding Gas Range with 5 Sealed Burners - Stainless Review

(More customer reviews)When we started looking for a replacement for our old gas range, I put in a few hours of research on the Internet and came up with BOSCH. They have a strong reputation for well-built, reliable appliances (and tools), and the customer reviews are for the most part more favorable than for all other brands. There were a few customers who had minor complaints (such as, "the display panel is too sensitive and therefore hard to clean without resetting clock, turning on oven or timer, etc.") but we have not found any of them to apply to our subsequent experience with our new Bosch range.
We were considering a dual-fuel range with gas cooktop and electric convection oven but chose to go with all gas, with a gas convection oven. We LOVE it! At first we thought that the convection fan didn't work, but a quick online check with a helpful Sears technician revealed what the manual failed to point out: for this particular model (BOSCH #HGS5053) wait 6 minutes for the fan to start up when preheating in Convection mode.
The range is extremely well made and it looks great, too! The controls are easy to use, and the convection fan is so quiet you won't know it's running unless you turn on the oven light and look in through the large glass door panel. Baking is even with no "hot spots" in either Bake or Convection mode. The 5-burner cooktop is nicely designed and easy to keep clean. The oven racks are not as heavy-duty as those on my previous gas range, an ancient Frigidaire, but they're adequate for the job, and there are more oven rack positions available in these Bosch ranges. It preheats to the set temperature much more quickly than the old Frigidaire did, and maintains it with fewer and shorter burn cycles. We expect to save money on the gas bill with this range.
I would strongly recommend the Bosch HGS5053 if you're looking to replace your old energy-IN-efficient dinosaur of a gas range!

Beautiful, easy to use, easy to clean (top is black by the way, not stainless steel, which you can't tell from the image). However, it looks good. OK it does have that silly "Chicken Nuggets" button on it (please leave me my illusions that I'll be doing something more glamorous than heating up the nuggets, even if that does happen occasionally!). It's a mixture of shiny handles and stainless steel, which matches other appliances well, no finger prints, continuous grate on top, great heating/cooking etc., warming drawer, bottom oven rack that slides out when you open door, etc. No complaints. (Oh, except I had to buy the broiler pan separately. No biggie.)

(More customer reviews)The interior of the knobs is made out of a brittle, cheap plastic. 3 knobs have broken already and our range has only been lightly used over the course of the year we have owned it. The knobs are $110 each to replace!!
I'm really upset that LG made such cheap knobs to start with and that the replacement parts are astronomically priced.
I am having a hard time contemplating spending $300+ on replacement knobs when I know that they are so crappy and cheap that they are only going to break again.
Besides the knobs breaking, the range has functioned well enough for our family.

and they reply saying they are sorry and are going to send me new grates. THey suggest I great them with vegetable oil so they don't rust. see below...
If you notice the bottom of your grates are rusting the bottom surface on cast iron grates is deliberately unfinished to allow high carbon gases, present in iron, to escape during the manufacturing process. If the gases were trapped it would cause surface blemishes in the enamel finish and increase chipping. To eliminate or minimize rust from forming do not allow grates to stand in water for long periods of time. After washing dry the grates thoroughly to prevent rust oxidation from forming. You may also coat the bottom surfaces of the grates with a vegetable oil, or a non stick cooking spray (remember to wipe off excessive oil before placing on range). There may be a slight amount of smoke from any excess vegetable oil residue left on the grate when the burner is first used again. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing
Well they send me two grates in the mail. I have to reply and ask for two more. They send me one. I reply a 3 time asking for the fourth. Pathetic.
I am so disappointed in this stove and the customer service in regards to making it right. How dare you suggest that I have to treat the grates with oil to keep the from rusting! If you would have done some better testing and engineering then I would not have to do anything.Sure, you can send me replacement grates. But that isn't going to take care of my stove top which is likely to keep rusting regardless of my new grates.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this oven before the holidays - Love it! The top portion, which serves as a smaller oven, is perfect for cooking just about anything. I've broiled steaks and chops, and baked cookies and cakes, everything has been fantastic! It is absolutely wonderful to have 2 ovens in 1 appliance. How often do you have potatoes going and the rest of your meal needs to be in the oven as well. This solves all the problems! We cooked our turkey and everything else with no conflicts this season!
The smaller oven on top makes it perfect for those of us with really bad backs! I can barely bend over many days, but the top oven is at the perfect height to comfortably take whatever is in - out of the oven.
The burner controls along the side are great - gives the oven a much more streamlined look. The oven lights go on when the either door is opened. The entire appliance is very easy to keep clean. Overall I am thrilled with this purchase, I love the oven and would recommend it to anyone - it's really a plus for a busy kitchen.
