(More customer reviews)These are excellent lights for places where you can't readily install a powered light fixture, or for emergency preparations (in the car, with your home emergency supplies, for power outages, etc.). Each light is powered with three AAA batteries, and have five LED bulbs inside. The front cover is such that the light is evenly distributed, not as five individual light dots.The battery life on LED lights are far superior to the halogen light bulbs. I'm using 1.2V NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries and they work just fine (one word of advice: If you do decide to use rechargeable batteries, go for the Sanyo Eneloop batteries that hold their charges for a long, long time--the Eneloops are supposed to hold 85% of their charges after 1 year in storage; most NiMH batteries lose their charge in weeks).
