(More customer reviews)I replaced a grill that had cast iron everything. It would take 20 minutes or longer to get the grill to 400 degrees. This new Weber takes only about 5 minutes to hit 500 degrees. I love the 4 burner front to back design. It is a design that gets me back to the days of indirect heat cooking I got from my Weber charcoal grill. I have cooked steak, burgers, chicken and a Wisconsin favorite brats. This is the first time I have a side burner on a grill. I've used it to heat a few things and appreciate it.
I live in an area that has a constant breeze that was always a problem for other grills. The wind would get into the grill between the base and the cover and mess with the flame and cool the food. This grill has an inner cover that connects to the base and blocks the wind. This makes for very even temperature.
I was told this grill is manufactured in China and I was a little nervious about the quality of it. As far as I can tell, it is very well made and all the stainless is very thick. I looked at a couple other stainless steel grills and there is a noticable difference. Even the lower line of Webers have thinner metal.
The grill comes preassembled except for the two side tables. Two screws each and the grill was pretty much done. The grates and flavor bars had to be put into place. I was preheating in no time.

The primary cooking area measures 538 square inches. The handy warming rack area measures 112 square inches for a total cooking area of 650 square inches. The Summit S-420 gas grill also has a 12,000 Btu input flush-mount side burner lets you prepare sauces and side dishes right on the grill.
Other features include 2 stainless steel work surfaces, Weber's Grill-Out handle light, 6 tool holders, an enclosed tank storage area and a precision fuel gauge. Two heavy duty front locking casters and 2 heavy-duty back swivel casters ensure easy transport and safety. The purchase includes a Weber cookbook and is covered by a Weber limited warranty. The tank is not included with liquid propane grills.

(More customer reviews)I bought this grill for my recent let's say, milestone, birthday. I researched grills for over 2 months. I knew Weber was a good brand but wished to consider other options. My research always pointed back to "buy a Weber". Weber's customer service was always rated A-1, they've been bbq/grilling experts for years, and you know they'll be around in the future. The one kicker for the Summit S-420 model over a stainless Weber Genesis S-320 was a comment from a friend of mine with a nice stainless Jenn-Air model found at Lowes. He wished the rotisserie was positioned higher on the Jenn-Air. In my assessment of grills, I had never considered the importance of the rotisserie height. After looking at the Genesis S-320 and Jenn-Air models again, it became clear that a turkey or large roast might not work on the rotisserie of the other models. The Summit S-420 and other Summit grills solves this problem by providing a much higher rotisserie position. Add to that a much taller cover, and you'll see there is greater height for convection around whatever you're cooking. I've grilled hamburgers, salmon, T-bone steaks, and slow cooked smoked pork ribs - all to perfection. No need for a high end smoker feature that permanently reduces grill space - an aluminum foil tray with wood chips atop one of the burners works fine. The Snap-Jet individual burner ignition system was tricky at first. Once you actually read the instructions - Hey I'm a guy - you'll find the technology is easy and reliable. Quality is the final key to this grill. The stainless everything is impressive and high quality. The side-burner is more than an afterthought and mimics many high-end kitchen gas cook-tops. Even the doors of the storage area below are double sided for sturdiness. I usually have a minor stint of buyer's remorse after an expensive purchase. I have none. With this grill I can proudly say it's one of the best purchases/investments I've made in years!!!!
