Weber 60020 The Ranch Charcoal Kettle Review

I have a family of 7 with a few extra around a lot of the time. Grilling used to be a step by step process which usually meant I ate after everyone else because I was still cooking when most were eating. We like to do meat and vegetables on the grill and with this grill I can do it all at once and sit down with the family and enjoy! You can build your fire off center and spin the grate to move one item off and another item over the flame. You can also build small fires on two sides and put meat in the middle and smoke anything. Easy to control vents allow you to regulate the heat and burn time of the coals. Also it doesn't use a bag of cahrcoal at a time as you might think. You can use one Weber Chimney Starter (which I also recommend)full to cook most items. The grate is TOP quality. I used to go through a grate a year on my old Weber Kettle. This grate is beefy and I think must be finished better. No rust at all after two years. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is dealing with ashes. You have to remove both grates (and the cooking grate is a handful)and shovel ashes out. The bottom has three vents that are not made for ash removal. At least you can cook a ton before ashes become a problem. It is expensive and a load but I would do it again in a heartbeat if a tornado came and blew it away. That is about the only thing I can think of that would keep this thing from lasting for 20 years or more.

The Ranch is the Weber kettle on steroids. Do you need to feed a really big crowd? Originally designed for caterers and country club chefs, the Ranch Kettle is also perfect for company picnics, church gatherings, and family reunions. Grill multiple turkeys, roasts, chickens, or up to 19 Cornish hens on the Ranch Kettle.
Rugged, yet easy to use, this 37-1/2-inch-diameter grill features a patented tuck-away lid that slides conveniently into its holder. Two weather-resistant thermoplastic handles remain cool to the touch when you move the lid. A hinged cooking grate gives you easy access to coals and a removable ash catcher assures easy cleanup. With the same solid construction of all Weber grills, the Ranch Kettle has locking casters that allow for easy movement and the porcelain-enameled coating to prevent rust.

Alessi Il Conico Tea Kettle Review

I am a serious Alessi fan, and have had this teapot for over a decade. Don't know a great deal about physics, but I've NEVER experienced water boiling so fast. If you're trying to "go green", this teapot will even save electricity/power. It's really quite intriquing. I assume it to have something to do with the conical shape - you will never be disappointed. The design is also brilliant because the handle never gets prohibitively hot. The finish is so bright and shiny, I'd warn everyone in the household that they cannot use a scrubbie on the finish, or they will scratch it. Brilliant functionality and brilliant design!

Alessi MG32AZ/USA Michael Graves Electric Kettle, Blue Review

My mother had several of the non-electric versions of these kettles for years. The problem? She kept leaving them on the stove without enough water in them, so the birds would melt, and then the bottom of the pot would get all charred and gross. She claimed she didn't want another electric appliance at home, but I bought this for her birthday and it won her heart. She uses it everyday. It boils water quickly and is really attractive. Of course, it's really expensive compared to other electric kettles, but you're paying for the design, and the design is pretty awesome.

Designed by architect Michael Graves in 1988, the electric kettle is a reintepretation of the best-selling kettle originally designed in 1988. Still the best seller since its introduction, the kettle is actually the product that has sold the greatest number of units in the history of the company. Body is in 18/10 stainless steel with handle and whistiling bird in PA. 110 V

Alessi Stainless Steel Kettle with Melodic Whistle Review

Alessi Stainless Steel Kettle with Melodic Whistle

We have owned this model for at least 10 years. It is heavy and solid, but within one year the trigger spring broke. Balance is poor and the spout a little lower on the body than it should be for a good pour. The plastic insulation on the lower part of the handle is starting to melt. I have no idea how to replace the worn parts.

Chantal Enamel-On-Steel Classic Teakettle Review

I have had my Chantal Teakettle for approximately 14 years (it is blue, however, instead of red). It has performed perfectly and still looks as new as the day it was purchased and given a home. Unlike other tea kettles I have owned, it has remained not only as beautiful but as strong as when it was new. Others I have had, have deteriorated in a short amount of time. I truly think this one will last a lifetime. I highly recommend it and how easy to be able to order it here.

KitchenAid 2-Quart Gourmet Essentials Brushed Stainless Steel Kettle Review

Yes, it's big, but I didn't think it was heavy. ***I JUST WEIGHED THIS KETTLE WHILE IT WAS FULL OF WATER AND IT ONLY WEIGHS 6 POUNDS. I can see that if you have trouble lifting a cat or bag of flour then you may have a problem here.
The craftsmanship is pure Kitchenaid. You will have no problem there. But beware that ONLY the stainless steel version is usable on glass-top stoves. The ceramic-covered versions are NOT. ***For those that don't know, you can click on this product to see what a glass-top stove/range looks like: Ceramabryte 28oz Cooktop Cleaner
The whistle is a bit screechy, but then again, you want it to alert you over the noise of the house.
The handle DOES get hot. Not burn-your-hand hot, but very warm. If you only touch the rubber part, you're fine, but you almost have to grab the whole thing to lift it and pour it safely.
I highly recommend getting the stainless steel version; it's beautiful and functional.
