The first unit shipped to me was missing a box and I had to return the other two boxes to Amazon for replacement. The second unit was great. I recently purchased another light and the tapped hole that connects the vertical mast to the base was drilled oversize during production and wouldn't tighten. I ended up having to go to a hardware store and buy an oversized bolt and run a tap into the mast to make it work. I dedicated 3 hours of labor to this fix alone, it was either that or disassemble, repackage and send it back to Amazon. One bonus is that the bulb socket states it is rated for a 100W bulb as opposed to the 60W max as advertised, though 100W is too intense on the eyes when in the hood of the lamp. 60W works really well. Round support pole makes repositioning of the hood easy, though sometimes un-intentionial. Would recommend this purchase to anyone who is patient and can accept shipping back defective product or is mechanically inclined and can fix quality control issues if necessary.
