(More customer reviews)These cans burn a long time, look great, and I love the crackle, but the smell was very powerful. The smell actually gave me quite a headache, esp. when I go one floor up (the fireplace is near the stairs) where the heat and smell "rise". I got Sunjel fuel in a subsequent order, and while it didn't crackle quite as nice, there was virtually no smell with the Sunjel brand, so I'll stick with that one.

(More customer reviews)I have had a ventless fireplace for 10 years and have been using this product for the same amount of time. I usually place 2 cans behind the ceramic log. It really puts out heat (sufficient for an Arizona winter anyway) and crackles and pops. It is a great alternative to a woodburning fireplace. Don't get me wrong, they are in no way the same, but if you are looking for a beautiful fire for ambiance and a little warmth, this will do the trick.

(More customer reviews)I've used this brand and Real Flame. I decided to try this one because of the reviews re odor; there's a definite "smell" at the end of the burn of a Real Flame can. After using 8 cans of Sunjel, I've noticed no odor; but even after "shaking" to ensure everything is mixed properly, the can does not burn completely. Fully 1/3 of the can remains and refuses to remain lit, no matter what I do. So for all I know, the last part of Sunjel might have an odor, but I'll never know. Leaving that much unusable product behind is unacceptable. Won't use Sunjel again.
