Saeco 21103 Royal Professional Fully Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver and Blue Review

Unlike the review below we've been lucky in that we've had no problems with our unit.
It's been exactly 3 years since we purchased our machine and we haven't looked back. The machine was bought as we were spending $40-50 a week at Starbucks. Now we use organic milk and beans and make our own latte's at home.
The machine is super easy to use. There are various settings for the grinding and dose of coffee. I just set the dose on max and change the grind depending on what beans I use. The machine gives you 3 sizes of coffee depending on what you want. The steam wand works well but can only be used after coffee dispensing is finished. It takes 15-25sec for the steam wand to really start.. steaming. The cappuchinore on my machine doesn't work but I only tried to use it after we had the machine for 2 years so I'm not bothered too much. I also have the direct water connection to my reverse osmosis system. So I haven't had to de-scale yet and might never need to.
Another useful item is the rinsing cycle where the machine runs hot water through itself for 10mins. At the end you get to see how much "dirt" was cleaned out. Quite satisfying :)
The machine also has some idiot proof features. One is when you put in pre-ground coffee but then press the coffee button instead of the pre-ground button first. The machine makes some funky noises but then dumps everything out. I'm not proud to say I've done this more than once....
Overall through it's the best $$$ I've ever spent and would highly recommend this machine. It might not be the cheapest (or most expensive!) but you get what you pay for!
p.s. the coffee is amazing!!!!!!!!!

The Breville One-Touch Tea Maker Review

The Breville One-Touch Tea Maker
Average Reviews:

I have had 2 other machines. The Zarfina and the TriniTea, neither was truly impressive. This machine blew my socks off.
First - the construction. Stainless steel, glass, black rubber, and plexiglass for the kettle handle.
Second - totally customizable brew temperature (160 degrees - 212 degrees, 5 degree increments), customizable brew time (1:00 to 10:00 in 0:30 increments).
Third - amazing magnetically suspended tea basket moves in and out of the tea during brewing.
Fourth - keep warm feature, timed start feature, it also keeps track of the time since you brewed the tea so you can track its freshness.
Fifth - can operate as an electric kettle, and just heat water if you leave out the basket.
One thing to consider is that the kettle cannot be placed in the dishwasher. To clean you boil water or vinegar for 3:00.
The one thing I feel is that I have gotten every bit of my money's worth from this item. Nothing about it feels cheaply made. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves tea.

Saeco 4045 Vienna Plus 15-Bar-Pump Super-Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver Review

Saeco 4045 Vienna Plus 15-Bar-Pump Super-Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver

Vienna Plus is my third fully automatic machine. I loved my first, Saeco original Vienna, hated the second, Saeco Incanto classic. The original Vienna worked for 3 years every day, making consistently good espresso before the pump gave. I should have paid for repair, but I succumbed to that stainless steel twinkle and went for Saeco Incanto classic. More expensive for sure. Worse, better said inconsistent, coffee quality, constant small problems relating to built quality concerning the brew group, the grinder and the steamer wand. After a year of irritation a pump seal has failed while making espresso, nothing like a small explosion in the kitchen in the morning, I tell ya. Well, gone back to the trusted Vienna, now with the plus in the name. Good old days are here again .... Compared to previous- it is a lot quieter, when both grinding and steaming, it is also a lot quicker to warm up then before, steam is ready a mere 15 seconds after pushing the button. Espresso has a beautiful rich crema right out of the box, I didn't have to experiment with grind setting at all. The steaming wand (Panarello) has been redesigned and is now foolproof maker of perfect frothed foam. For the newbie I would like to add that I spent a lot of effort to find the right roast - tasted more than a few before I settled on one (Peerless Coffee Espressp Perfection) that I buy now in 5 lb. bags and keep in the freezer. I should for fairness add that I never want any other coffee through the machine like some decaf or flavored stuff, so I don't miss the alternate ground coffee option that Incanto had. My priority has always been flavor and consistency and that the Vienna Plus delivers. My friends drive miles to "see me" and, by the way, get a cup of espresso, praising each one as "this is the best espresso in the world". If that is what you desire, don't get mesmerized by stainless steel shine or computerized display magic and save yourself some money by getting this machine. You won't regret it. And I am unanimous in that. ;)

The machine's user-friendly control panel offers a coffee button, a knob for adjusting the amount of coffee in the cup, and a steam-function button, as well as a temperature-ready/coffee-function light, a steam-temperature light, an alarm light, and a power "on" light. The unit holds up to 12 ounces of whole coffee beans at a time, and its built-in conical burr grinder allows for adjusting the fineness level of ground coffee--plus, using freshly ground coffee helps to ensure the most flavorful results. Use the OptiDose adjustable doser to control the amount of ground coffee used to make each cup (from 6 to 9 grams) and the removable Pannarello wand to froth milk for cappuccinos and lattes--or to dispense hot water for Americanos, tea, and instant hot chocolate. Best of all, the machine's patented removable brew group allows for tamping, brewing, and dispensing all in one cycle; for quick rinsing and chemical-free cleaning, remove the brew group with a simple push of a button. IQ Innovations 51552 Fine T 4-Cup Gourmet Tea Machine Review

IQ Innovations 51552 Fine T 4-Cup Gourmet Tea Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Fine T Tea maker from IQ innovations.
Good:
-Makes 4 cups
-Has a rinse feature for tea. Although I would like to tweak that a bit.
-Mostly stainless steal and glass.
-Mostly very well made.
-Self cleaning, handy.
-Infusion basket is full size, so the tea has room to expand. It also is removable, and easy to clean sense it is stainless steal. This was one major draw back of the Zarafina, it's infusion basket was only half the size of the amount you could brew.
-Timer, it can be set the night before to make you tea in the morning!
-Has an automatic function for a second brew.
-Keeps tea warm for up to 30 minutes.
Bad:
-Very little temperature control. I though this would be the best part of this machine, with the lcd display and menu interface I assumed I would have more temperature chooses then 205 and 160. This also is to cold for some Black teas, and a bit to hot for some white teas.
-It's huge! Well this really is not that bad, but it is almost twice the size of the Zarafina and does not really fit under my cupboards on the counter. Of course it does make 4 cups.
-Some oddly cheap plastic parts. For example the infusion lid is made of plastic and puts off a plastic smell when brewing black tea.
-An interface only a programmer would love. It is not terribly user friendly, yet it is not hard ether. It does end up being tedious to deal with.
-Bad viewing angle on the LCD, I am taller, and find myself leaning over to see it clear. If it had more features, I would be impressed, but when I can not even dial in a temperature I wonder why we need it for the basic settings. That is until you use the timer for tea in the morning, then you will like it.Over all it has a feeling of a beta tea maker. A great first attempt for them, but obviously has a few bugs and corners that were cut un-neededly. You can tell they really understand what is important about brewing tea, with features including the pre rinse, but for some reason they fumble with only two temperature settings. Maybe they had internal pressure to cut costs or to rush its release? The tea comes out tasting great. Sure it is not as good as a gung fu method, but it is fairly close if you do not have time to make it by hand. So long as you don't need to brew at a temperature besides 160 or 205. If this tea maker was not so expensive, I would be more impressed, but at a retail price of $299 I would not recommend it unless you really needed 4 cups at a time, would like to wake up to fresh tea, or are independently wealthy. Now if you can pick one up on ebay for cheap, then thats a different story.
Ignoring price, it is better then the Zarafina. But considering retail price, the Zarafina is a much better buy.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Saeco Stainless Steel Xelsis Digital ID Automatic Espresso Machine Review

Saeco Stainless Steel Xelsis Digital ID Automatic Espresso Machine

Let me start by saying this machine is AWESOME. It's so easy to use, and so easy to customize, that everyone here at home is now a coffee (espresso) addict!!!
Pros:
- Amazingly easy to use. Push one button and it'll make your preferred beverage.
- It comes with a milk carafe that's sealable, so you can keep it filled in the fridge
- When you want it, just pick the carafe and attach to the machine. It'll then automatically make your cafe latte, latte machiatto or whatever beverage you prefer...
- You can customize everything. I like a strong espresso, but when drinking a machiatto I only want foam, not milk. It can do that.
- Stainless steel, so it's pretty sturdy. No easy to break plastic parts here.
- It looks great!!!
- It cleans itself (including the milk carafe) so you never get that "old coffee" taste
- It has a separate slot for ground coffee, so my GF can make her decaf at night!
Cons:
- Water tank could be bigger
- It has a drip tray, but it gets full kinda quickly. No biggie since it's easy to empty it though
Overall, it's a GREAT machine. The ease to use makes drinking espresso and lattes a breeze. The fingerprint Id reader is a nice feature, but not a must in my opinion. It's very sturdy and very easy to clean!
