(More customer reviews)I bought this hood 4 years ago. the motor broke in the first year. Luckily it was under warranty. Then 3 years later the new motor seized up again. This time I was out of luck. after much emailing and forcing the issue the company offered me first a 25% discount then a 50% discount on the motor only. The motor costs around $350.00. Labor runs between $200.00 - $300.00. They say their motors last up to 15 years but so far I've been averaging only 2 years per motor. At the level I invested in this product I wanted a new motor free of charge. No go. Maybe the third time's the charm? I'd check other vents and motors before I'd buy this Kitchenaid product again.
