(More customer reviews)The description claims that this box is waterproof. We have found that even the infrequent rain we experience in Los Angeles will soak our mail. The top slot is not protected from the elements at all and will receive rain or snow with ease. In addition, the design of the box is such that water that runs down the wall that the box is mounted on will also be admitted into the box.
This is a lovely mailbox; it will work well if protected by eaves on a wall that itself stays dry in inclement weather. Otherwise forget about it, as the design simply cannot keep water out.
