(More customer reviews)Our 30+ year-old double oven combo went kaput a few weeks ago and was unrepairable because the thermostat required is no longer made. I was bummed that I only had one choice for a replacement wall unit since only Maytag is making the correct size for our existing cabinet cutout. However, after installing the new ovens and using them, I am very pleased with the look (I chose the stainless model which I felt would go better with the existing "Almond" appliances) and the performance.
I have not had to use the self clean feature on the top oven so cannot comment on how well that item works, however, the programmable heat and timing are superb. Both ovens are extremely well insulated so the heat stays inside. Pre-heating is fast and efficient and the oven temperatures are true with even heat. The broiler is excellent.
The only negative I have about this unit is overall oven size; it's on the small size. You won't be roasting any twenty-five pound turkeys in this oven, but since we're empty nesters, the smaller size is fine for everything we do.
I give this set five stars; it's a much better performer than I thought I'd get. Installation was easy, too. Our existing cutout was only 1/8" narrower than the new unit so little adaptation was necessary. The entire installation took less than an hour.
