All-Clad has really nailed this pot's design, as it is an ideal shape and size for multiple purposes: stockpot, pasta, braising, and doesn't block cooktop access to other pots and pans in full blown cook mode. Excellent construction and finish quality; magnetic induction compatible, a lifetime purchase worth every one of the many dollars this pot costs.

All Clad's Stainless Tall 8-Quart Stock Pot is perfectly designed for simmering soups and stews but are wonderful for preparing long pasta too.
